Kevin Booth Writer Welcome to my writing page. I write under the pen names Kevin Booth, K. Eastkott, Ralph Wulfboan and others. You also have links to all my books here.

Poble Sec Books offers editorial and publishing options for independent authors and businesses. Hi, my name's Kevin Booth, writer and artist. I began writing professionally while working in the theatre, penning English ESL/EFL plays including 100 Meters. Nowadays I write contemporary and gay-themed fiction, often about Barcelona and its history, such as my first novel, Celia’s Room. I also write about the city’s art and architecture in the BCN Free Art guides. Writing as K. Eastkott I created “Seeking the Jewel Fish”, an environmentally focussed ocean fantasy exploring non-Eurocentric worlds. As Ralph Wulfboan, I have "The Missing Bone", a D.I. Kuvasz mystery. As well as writing, I work as a translator and editor, and am a passionate visual artist. As a painter, I work in oils and mixed media. Born in Aotearoa New Zealand, I’ve lived in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Madrid and London, though since 1988, Barcelona is the city I call home.

Exciting news! His Truest Role has started a Kindle Countdown deal. Get it for just 99c now!

That’s right, my first gay romance novel, a gay enemies-to-lovers Mediterranean romance, has just started a discount run at 99c/99p. Over the next few days, the price will progressively rise back to its original price. So the sooner, you act, the cheaper you can grab this great deal!

(Unfortunately, Amazon only offers this deal to readers in the US (Amazon.com) and UK (Amazon.co.uk) marketplaces.)

Here’s what readers are saying about Kim and Dídac…

“Outstanding! Very relatable characters and story! I was hooked immediately and could not put down this well-written book!”

“A really enjoyable story set in a beautifully described Catalonia, with wonderful descriptions about locations, food, and a bit of history. The theatre parts were interesting, as were the actors. The quick and powerful attraction between Kim and Dídac felt very realistic. The part where everything went wrong for Dídac was particularly touching. A good author to add to the own voices list.”

“A fun easy read that will make you immediately want to go to Barcelona. If you have never been the city is so vividly described it will be at the top of your travel list and if you have been wonderful memories will come back. In addition to the great location the main characters are written wonderfully as well. Kim is the grumpy theatre director who has to interact with his irritating leading man, Didac. Of course they are enemies who soon become more than that as their chemistry is palatable.”

“The characters are all a delight and so entertaining. Didac and Kim had a sweet dynamic.”

Kieran Lamour’s second spicy full-length gay romance, His Worst Crime, is now out in ebook and print. It’s an opposite-attract tale set in a Barcelona stables, a romance between a Yorkshire lad on the run from the law and a Catalan mounted policeman. It’s got horses, hay to roll in, hot uniformed cops, thrilling horse rides down at the Delta de l’Ebre, paella and cava, as well as an excruciating slow-burn, deepest-passion, forced-proximity relationship that will have you clawing at the page for these guys to get it together. And when they finally do, the steam is four out of five peppers on the spice scale. What’s not to love?

His Cruelest Moves – Cover Reveal!
The project I’ve almost finished, His Cruelest Moves, which is free to readers of my newsletter, It’s Lamour, explores the same world as His Truest Role. It’s a spin-off story focusing on a secondary character, Isard Muntaner, and his martial arts teacher, Alex Zhao. I’m totally in love with Alex, Isard, and their path to love.

This one isn’t quite full-on enemies-to-lovers, though these guys certainly get off to a bumpy start. It plays with the attraction of opposites, certainly physically—brown and muscular Alex versus slim, pale and elegant Isard—though not as obviously in a cultural sense as you might expect, because both Alex and Isard are born in Catalonia. But they are from different sides of the tracks, with quite contrasting family backgrounds. I’m having loads of fun with it, and I hope you will too.

His Cruelest Moves is a short-form novella (just 20,000 words) and is free to readers of my newsletter, It’s Lamour. It’s quite a challenge to write such a compact story, a bit like designing a Swiss watch (not that I’ve ever done that, but how intricate I imagine the process to be). However, I’m loving the challenge!

The first draft is done, so I’m now revising and polishing it, ready to send to my subscribers. Hopefully it will be hitting your inbox within a week or so.
