When Joaquín Sorolla exhibited in London in 1908 at the Grafton Galleries, critics struggled to put into words what they were seeing…and ended up saying this:

“Sorolla does not paint objects, he paints light itself; the brush seems charged with sunlight.”

“His brush does not merely represent light, it radiates it.”

“The sun seems to have been caught and spread across the canvas with a brush.”

Roma impone.

The magic of Sant Joan in Ciutadella is beyond words, it must be lived.
One of the oldest traditions in the world, where the aristocracy, the church, and the farmers have come together for centuries to create a celebration unlike any other. A powerful blend of history, devotion, and identity that makes Menorca truly unique.

This year, we had the privilege of experiencing it from a place of extraordinary beauty and meaning…thanks to Mónica Pons, Carlos de Salort, and the entire Salort family, who so generously opened the doors of their home and hearts to us.

Thank you for allowing us to witness the soul of Menorca up close an experience we will never forget.

Sicilia is a crossroads of empires. Greek temples, Roman mosaics, Arab courtyards, Norman cathedrals and traces of Spanish rule that still echo in its palaces, plazas, and language. Walk through cities like Palermo, Catania or Noto and you’ll see the grandeur of the Spanish Baroque blending with the island’s bold spirit.

The architecture here is dramatic and theatrical, shaped by conquest and resilience. You don’t just visit Sicilia, you witness centuries of power, beauty and survival carved in stone.

One of my favourite hidden gems in London is .house , the home of the Duke of Wellington.

This place is a must-visit, not only for the grandeur of the building but also for the absolutely mind-blowing art collection it holds. We’re talking Caravaggios, Murillos, Velázquez… and the story behind it all is just as fascinating as the works themselves.

Most of the paintings originally belonged to the Prado Museum in Madrid. During the French expansion in the 19th century, Napoleon’s troops were stealing artworks across Europe. When the Duke of Wellington’s troops intercepted a convoy carrying these stolen treasures, King Ferdinand VII of Spain gifted the entire collection to the Duke as a thank-you for his role in the liberation of Spain from French occupation.

Today, you can see this exceptional collection in the main hall of Apsley House. It’s one of London’s most surprising and underrated museums.

If you’re into history, art, or simply love discovering secret spots in the city, this place is a total treat.
