This is my piece from the Sketch & Collage workshop we did last Saturday.
It’s inspired by my summer, which reminds me so much of home.. the plants I have around me, and especially this anthurium I was gifted recently. I’ve been doing my best to keep it alive in this heat!🫠☀️

There’s also a touch of work here, with the beautiful textures she made for us to use in the collage, and insect lino print, which worked perfectly for the composition. 🐞
And also the cutouts I made from my sketches for the workshop, like the little seashell you can see in the last image, which are also available for my Patrons as a PDF.

I’ll be sharing more soon over on Patreon. I think I’m slowly getting better at my collage process.

I went to park Guell this weekend and felt like a tourist in Barcelona again.
As I created this collage piece, it hit me…it’s almost 6 years since I landed here.
Time moves fast, but I never get tired of capturing its summer light.🌞✨

I don’t realize until i look back at my old human figure sketches that it really has been a beautiful journey
These drawings from 2022 look so beginner but i love seeing how things have slowly changed with time.

The past year I’ve been more consistent with figure drawing, and I can feel it in my lines, in the way I was able to blend human and space, and in how much more “me” my drawings look now.

Progress is slow and that’s okay. The good stuff lives in the process. This is what im sharing more in depth on Patreon ☀️

Such a fun sketch session! 💛
It’s always such a lovely time drawing with .artstudio and the other amazing ladies. We worked from black & white photo references this time, and each of us brought them to life with our own colors. It’s always inspiring to see how differently we interpret the same image🌿
