"Blue Book Theatre Company was born from the belief that theatre can bridge the local and international communities in Barcelona. With artists from over 25 countries, the company stages professional productions in English. Since its beginnings in the aftermath of the pandemic, the Blue Book Theatre Company has built a presence across Barcelona's stages. Their repertoire moves between dark comedy and intimate drama. In 2026, that work was recognised with the title of 'Theatre Company of the Year' at the Spanish Business Awards. That inclusivity is built into the company's DNA where actors rotate from production to production, with an effort to give opportunities to non-native English speakers as well as emerging and established directors. The company avoids making theatre feel exclusive by working with well-known, published writers and clear narratives. They aim to remove the intimidation that sometimes surrounds the arts. "We try to stay as general as possible in storytelling," Kelly explains, "so everybody can come."

In Other Words by Matthew Seager directed by Jonathan Bella Luto Playing at Teatreneu and El Retiro, Sitges this April 2026.

El Retiro, Sitges

“The play uses flashbacks, reflections, and direct audience address in a non-linear structure that itself mirrors the mind of an Alzheimer’s patient. This is a particularly intelligent dramaturgical choice — the form enacts the theme. The audience doesn’t just observe a failing mind; they experience something of its disorientation firsthand.” -British Theatre Guide

“Seager describes hoping audiences can leave with a smile on their face and tears in their eyes — and that being in love and wanting to care for those close to us is something universal we can all connect to. That balance — joy and grief held simultaneously — is perhaps the most defining quality of the piece, and why it has now reached over 300,000 people across four continents.” First Night Magazine

March 2026
Teatre Gaudi

Constellations by Nick Payne is a play about love, chance, and the small choices that shape our lives, told through the relationship between Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper. Rather than following one straightforward storyline, the play shows many different versions of the same moments in their relationship, suggesting that every decision creates a new possible reality. Some versions are awkward and funny, while others are painful and deeply emotional, reflecting how fragile and unpredictable human connection can be. As the story develops, the focus shifts from possibility to inevitability, raising questions about fate, free will, and what it means to love someone when time is limited. Through its simple staging and fast-paced dialogue, the play reminds us that even in a universe full of endless outcomes, the choices we make — especially to love and care for one another — still matter.
