I finished this shawl yesterday, and I’m stoooooked.

It was designed by a German man named Herbert Niebling in the 1930s/40s, but I think it fits right in nearly 100 years later.

Yarn: 1 skein of 100% silk from
Needles: 3mm

Here’s what I’ve been working on recently, between knitting and spinning.

Can’t doomscroll with knitting needles in your hands.
And clothing is something we all use every single day. As it’s gotten cheaper and cheaper to acquire, our relationship with our clothing has gotten very distant.

But for most of human history, large swathes of the population actively worked to create and maintain their clothing.

And now, that labor still exists. It’s just hidden halfway around the world.m, easy to forget, to ignore.

So this is one way to reconnect. Stitch by stitch. Step by step.
