Our exhibition „Patterns of identity“ continues in 2023. in picture works by

This work is part of our current exhibition "Patterns of Identity", a group exhibition displaying artists from different geographies, perspectives and trajectories.

In this show, we have included a selection of artists in which practices we can see an allusion of "patterns" that forge us as a society and as a collective group, whose beliefs, traditions, symbols and values construct our cultural identity and our sense of belonging.

Ethel Coppieters was born in Brussels in 1996. Her work portrays women whose faces and bodies evoke mixed feelings. Ethel’s characters possess a mysterious beauty, with delicate, almost apathetic faces that reveal the traces left by suffering.

Inspired by the women around her, the figures that she creates are nourished by classic feminine references with highly contemporary narrative elements, such as accessories, clothes and current objects that reflect the identity of our generation.

Through these portraits of women with deconstructed body proportions, freed from the mandates of beauty we know, the artist recreates dreamlike scenes to speak about the intimate and the universal.

We hope that next year will be even better than this one and that we can continue sharing our passion for art in the same way as we do now.

Last week of our current exhibition in Barcelona “Blurred States of Being”.

Artwork details:

Ju Schnee
“Waiting for my dye to dry”, 2022
Oil and acrylics on linen + AR
200 x 160m

In her works, Ju Schnee (1992, Austria), sets the basis of the dialogue between an abstract digital-created world and the physical object. A balance between imagination, manifestation and reaction. From the abstract painting, to the manifested sculpture, to the reaction via augmented reality and the return to the digital world.

Ju, studied Information Design (BA) and Communication Design (MA) in her hometown Graz. Since 2020 she has her own studio in Berlin Mitte and in 2022 she opened also another studio located in Vienna, Austria. Berlin and Vienna, two meaningful cities to develop her work as an independent artist.

The intersection between the digital and the physical parts of her practice play a very important role in each one of her works. In the case of the one we have the pleasure of be showing in our space in Barcelona; "Waiting for my die to dry" , the spectator can interact with the work trough an app which brings the artwork to live with Augmented Reality.

She has been exhibiting internationally in the last years in countries like Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, Spain, France and Belgium.
