Dear friends,
We have wonderful news! 🌟

The Dollscape Association of Doll Artists is now officially registered!
It took several months (things rarely move quickly in Spain 😅), but in the end — we did it! ❤️

Earlier, I mentioned the rebranding of Unidia, and there were several reasons for this decision:
🔸 First, Unidia was never officially registered and had no legal status.
🔸 Second, the name Unidia started appearing in connection with some questionable events. Although this was completely false, we had no way to prevent the misuse of the name, since the association did not legally exist.

So, the organization seemed to exist — and yet, at the same time, it didn’t.
A subtle but very important point.

Now, in place of Unidia, we officially have the Dollscape Association.
Please remember that the Unidia Association no longer exists, especially if you are ever invited somewhere under that name.

Our website will soon be updated, but for now it remains available at the old address.

Lately, the name Unidia has been used in projects unrelated to our community.
To protect the reputation we’ve built together, I’m announcing a rebranding.

Unidia no longer exists as a creative union.
From now on, all its artists officially become members of the new association:

Dollscape unites creators who see the art doll as a true medium of contemporary art.
Our mission is to bring it to the global art stage — through collaboration with curators, critics, and institutions.

This is a fairy tale character - an elf grandfather. He is very old and very wise. There is fatigue and experience in his eyes, but his soul has remained as bright and pure as he is, and it is this inner spiritual light that my old elf is ready to share with those who are now having a hard time, feeling bad, who lack faith in the pure and bright. "Bound by Hope"

In the depths of light and darkness an angel is born - a creature whose bright appearance is intertwined with darkness, like an eternal duel of two principles. His wings are covered with feathers, symbolizing freedom and the desire to fly. But they are bound by ropes - the shackles of matter and internal struggle, which hold him captive in invisible chains.
These bonds are not just restraints, they are symbols of doubts, fears and pain that prevent one from soaring to the sky. The angel strives to break out upward, to the radiance, to the light, but the darkness inside and around him fetters his strength and slows his breathing. His body is a story of confrontation: light skin with imprints of gold, and darkness - depth and heaviness, like a stone on the soul.
But even in this struggle, in these threads that bind, there is hope. Hope for freedom, because freedom is not only the absence of shackles, but also the strength to embrace one's light and shadow, to unite them in a flight that is above fear and doubt.

This angel is a mirror of each of us. In each heart live both light and darkness, bonds and wings. And only when we dare to spread our wings - even if they are tied with ropes, we will open the way to true freedom and flight.

The wise virgin. "Lucia" (Based on the Gospel "Parable of the ten virgins")

Thinking about the nature of light, I chose several images from those that are born in the imagination. I settled on what now, at this moment, at a point relative to the world and space, supports and comforts. This is the Gospel (Gospel of Matthew). The parable of the ten virgins.
"... of whom five were wise and five were foolish. The foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps."
I have a small series of works, 5 dolls, inspiredly started sometime, but not finished right away. For several years they have been travelling with me around the world, and from time to time I finish them when I hear what they want to say... This work was started many years ago, in St. Petersburg, at the BDT, where I worked for a long time. Then it came to Italy, together with me. Now, thanks to the theme "Light" in the Gaudir project, this work has been realized and can speak for itself.

A Hope of Light

I believe that we, as artists, have a duty to send a message to the world through our works. What is happening today towards the Palestinian people is a wound to my heart that is too big and painful and every day I think of the thousands of innocent people who suffer without being guilty and I suffer with them.

My doll wants to be a message of hope, a light in the darkness of this selfish society, which looks the other way and does not reach out.

Palestine is a broken heart that will never be extinguished, a heart that must be collected, cared for and protected so that its light can shine forever.
My doll is a hand stretched out to love that, without fear, rises to help this fragile light.

The Swing

When I was given the theme “light”, I chose to interpret it not in the most immediate sense—as in light versus darkness—but rather in terms of weight: light as something not heavy. This choice allowed me to explore a more abstract and emotional dimension of the word.

Instead of focusing on physical light or sources of illumination, I was drawn to the idea of lightness as a feeling: the sensation of freedom, delicacy, or even fragility.

I wanted to represent how being "light" can mean feeling unburdened, both physically and mentally. This approach gave me the opportunity to work with subtle colors, and gentle movements, all of which helped convey this interpretation.

By shifting the focus from light as brightness to light as weightlessness, I aimed to challenge expectations and offer a more poetic, personal perspective on the theme.

The carrier pigeon

The word "light" is not just a phenomenon. Not just the sun in the window or a lamp on the table. It is a metaphor for life, hope, truth, love and goodness. A symbol of inner warmth, meaning and salvation.
Light helps to navigate, not to give up, to believe and go towards your goal - be it in physical darkness or in spiritual darkness.
Light is energy. Light is faith. It is love. Hope. Peace.

Everything that warms from within and does not go out, even when everything else disappears.
And yes, there are things that cannot be seen with the eyes. They can only be felt with the heart.

That is why the "Homing Pigeon" fits this description perfectly.

The Homing Pigeon as a symbol. It is a messenger of good, and, as if to the light of a lighthouse, flies through darkness, wind, storm.

He flies as if responding to a call - there, in the distance, amidst the bustle and worries, a tiny flame of hope burns, and it is to this that he strives with his whole being. He will not get lost in the gloom. He flies, even if the path is long and the sky is covered with clouds.
He overcomes distances, storms, winds and rains because he knows that at the other end is someone who needs this news, like a breath of fresh air, like a ray of light through the gray veil of days.
He does not give up because he carries something more than just a letter - he carries a feeling. The very news that can warm, inspire, calm.
He always finds a way.

This piece explores the quiet, transformative power of light through the metaphor of moonlight. The figure, bathed in a silvery glow, becomes both a guardian and a seeker—carrying a lantern that represents inner guidance and hope in the darkness. She embodies the delicate balance between shadow and illumination. “Light” here is not only physical, but symbolic: a silent force that reveals and protects.
