Photos from our visit to AUC Rare Books and Special Collection Library.

We discussed Ramses Wissa Wassif’s early phase of art deco buildings, the unrealized play and character design sketches by Hassan Fathey and the several proposals to Nasser’s mausoleum in Abbasia. along how the political atmosphere influenced the career of Sayed Karim and the state of his archive.

Eman Morgan offered interesting readings to Description de l'Égypte, and invited us to notice everyday notes written inside a thirteenth century koran, some doodles by a kid in a bible written in Arabic with latin translation that was owned by The Medici Family (patrons of Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo da Vinci) and Huda Sharawi’s personal handwritten letters.

We really want to thank Eman Morgan, Balsam Abdel-rahman, Muhammad Emmad and Stephen Urgola for sharing with us their knowledge and interest, and lots of special love to Eman Morgan who made that tour possible.

Witnessing the genuine interest and love of the people working there to those subjects was truly very enchanting and inspiring.

will be announcing about our upcoming exhibition, workshops and tours very soon.

I was scanning old films and found these touching photos of us 🌸

I really value our discussions, the screenings, the jokes, us sharing food, knowledge and all of the small mundane details that shaped our gatherings and memory.

Thanks to everyone who was part of this 🌸

Re-imagining Egyptology”, a program that offers a space for cultural practitioners and artists from diverse backgrounds to come together and collaboratively work, discuss, share resources and create projects that navigate through perceived and constructed notions of Egyptian identity, and how Egyptian history is being appropriated, used and potentially abused.

Together, we create a safe platform to raise questions collectively and create projects that problematize the gaps and the silences in archives.

During the first round, 16 art projects were produced. which will be exhibited very soon.

From our last visit to the Egyptian Museum.

Museums often focus on the visual experience only, in the tour we invited ourself to be aware of our other sensory experiences. At the end of the tour, we shared our experiences based on a sense other than sight, there were a quite range of experiences from the museum acoustics to how certain pieces smelled or felt.

I always find it nice how the conversations often floats around where we discuss migration, the Nile, informal settlements, the different curation methods applied right now in the museum, geese and chickens, identity, marvel, Hatshepsut and lots of other stuff.

Thanks for everyone who came, lots of love 🌸

This magical house was founded in 2014. Dr Shereen, along with her daughter Elina Saleh, old friend Salem Abobasha and renowned architect Stephan Malka, worked to create what we know today as the House of Kheops. The enchanting property serves as a multi-functional event space as well as an utterly unique homestay experience.

We created the house to serve as a place encompassing community, creativity and culture - a place where guests can channel their passion and positive energies.
