On December 2, AUC The American University in Cairo will present a concert in memory of David Llewellyn Hales, an extraordinary pianist, accompanist, coach, and teacher. The concert will feature the Cairo Festival Orchestra and fourteen distinguished soloists, all of whom worked with David as collaborators or students over the past forty years, presenting music of many composers, from Bach, Handel, and Mozart to Tchaikovsky, Puccini, and Piazzolla. The concert will also livestream.

Fourteen distinguished soloists accompanied by the Cairo Festival Orchestra in a concert presented in memory of David Llewellyn Hales.

Cairo Choral Society is happy to announce that we are returning to our regular activity this fall. Our intention is to be able to perform Mozart's Requiem by the end of the Fall season. Safety measures will be applied as necessary according to the situation at that time. We encourage all of our friends to join us once more and we hope to see many new faces as well! The Spring season begins tomorrow, Tuesday, February 11, 2020! Contact us now to confirm your attendance at tomorrow's rehearsal.

This season, we will be performing Mozart's Requiem. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays at the Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule (DEO) in Dokki starting February 11 and the performances are scheduled for the first week of May.

Rehearsals will run from 7:30 pm until 10 pm. We recommend arriving early to allow time to find the place, park, get to know other members of the choir, receive your music from the librarian and fill out your membership paper if you are a new member.

If you are interested in singing with us, be sure to leave us a comment or send us a private message to confirm your attendance. Your name must be on the list in order to be granted entrance at the school so please confirm your attendance with us at least 2 days in advance.

You are cordially invited to attend this season's performances of Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, performed by the Cairo Choral Society and the Cairo Festival Orchestra. There will be two concerts this season, taking place next week on Wednesday, December 4 and Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 8pm. Further details can be found in the attached flyer.

Join us for another night with three American Composers, tonight at the Malak Gabr Theater, at AUC The American University in Cairo.

The performance will begin at 9 pm sharp. Entrance is free and open to the public.
