In 2010 El Mastaba center opened El Dammah Theatre, a performance hall of around 100 seats

in the Abdeen Area, El Dammah theatre provides a regular program every Thursday night of live performances of high artistic standards by the bands of El Mastaba network with focus on the simsimya and Dammah traditions from Suez Canal area, Rango music, Nubian music, Sufi spiritual music, Bedouin music, and Upper Egyptian traditional music.

صفا الهلالي مغنية وعازفة هي أول ست تعزف علي الربابة من سوهاج تخرجت من المعهد العالي للموسيقي
وتدربت الغناء قبل دراستها في المعهد علي يد الفنانة فاطمة سرحان وتعلمت الربابة بالإحتكاك بأهل المجال وعازفين الرباب في مصر تقود فرقة تمزج بين التراث المصري والسيرة الهلالية والصعيدي وروح الموسيقى المعاصرة. تنفرد الفرقة بتقديم عروض تعتمد على العزف الحي على الربابة مع صوتها الدافئ تقدم حفلات تعكس قوة المرأة في الموسيقى الشعبية، وتعيد تقديم التراث المصري بشكل حديث يلامس الجمهور من مختلف الخلفيات.
تسعى الفرقة إلى نشر جمال الفن الشعبي والة الرباب وإبرازها كآلة قادرة على التعبير، وإحياء الهوية الموسيقية المصرية
Safaa El Helaly is a singer and musician who holds the distinction of being the first woman from Sohag to play the Rebab. A graduate of the Higher Institute of Music, she honed her vocal skills under the mentorship of the renowned artist Fatma Serhan prior to her formal studies. She mastered the Rebab through direct immersion with master players and practitioners of the craft across Egypt.
She leads a band that masterfully blends Egyptian heritage, the Taghribat Bani Hilal (Sira Helalia), and Sa’idi folk music with a contemporary musical spirit. The ensemble is unique for its live Rebab performances paired with Safaa’s warm, soulful vocals. Their concerts celebrate the strength of women in folk music, reimagining Egyptian heritage in a modern style that resonates with audiences from all backgrounds.
The band’s mission is to spread the beauty of folk art, showcase the Rebab as a powerful instrument of expression, and revive Egyptian musical identity.
