الزار هو من الأشكال الموسيقية القليلة التى تحتل فيها المرأة دورا أساسيا.
وتعود أهميته الفنية لكونه من الفنون التى عاشت بعيداً عن عمليات التأثير والتأثر، نظرا لمحاصرة المجتمع والدولة لها فاحتفظت بقوامها وأصولها القديمة التي قد تعود إلى العصور المصرية القديمة
ويمتد الزار حتى الجزيرة العربية واليمن والخليج العربى والعراق وإيران.
والزار فى مصر ينقسم إلى ثلاثة أنواع: الزار المصرى أو الصعيدى وزار أبو الغيط، والزار السودانى أو الأفريقى.
فيديريكو باسكوتشى هو موسيقي كرس نفسه لسنوات لدراسة الموسيقى التقليدية لأوروبا الشرقية وآسيا الصغرى. عاش تجربة موسيقى الجاز من خلال نشاط مكثف للدراسات والحفلات الموسيقية في أوروبا ، حيث عاش بشكل دائم في مدن لشبونة وأمستردام وروما. خلال حياته المهنية ، تدرب في مدرسة Testaccio Music School (روما) ، ومعهد Frosinone Conservatory ، ومؤسسة Siena Jazz Foundation ، و Conservatorium van Amsterdam مع العديد من المعلمين (كورت روزنوينكل، وإريك هارلاند ، وجورج جارزون ، وجيم سناديرو ، وجيف بالارد من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ، بالإضافة إلى أساتذة إيطاليين مثل Pierluigi Quarta و Maurizio Giammarco و Enrico Rava وPaolo Fresu
يتضمن عمله الفني بحثًا تفصيليًا في الأنماط الموسيقية للشرق الأدنى مما دفعه إلى التعاون مع أوركسترا الغجر المقدوني (كوكاني أوركستر وسيركوك أوركستار) ، مع عازف الأكورديون البلغاري مارتن لوبينوف وإنشاء مشاريع موسيقية مثل Errichetta Underground (إيطاليا، Tugoslavic Orkestar (البرتغال) و F.P.East Trio (إيطاليا / بلغاريا). منذ عام 2006، قاده نشاطه الموسيقي الغني إلى السفر والمشاركة في مهرجانات دولية ومشاريع مثل فرقة الساكسفون الأوروبية (بلجيكا ، الاتحاد الأوروبي) ، فرقة أجيوس لافرينتيوس النحاسية بواسطة Hayden Chisholm (اليونان ، ألمانيا) ، Errichetta Underground ( إيطاليا) ، مالسون ، كومبانيا ألجزارا ، نيلسون كاسكايس ديكاتيتو (البرتغال) ، WAS البرتغال ، فرنسا، Animatronic Leviathan (هولندا ، ألمانيا) ، رواة القصص (إيطاليا).
في عام 2010 حصل على "جائزة النقاد" في المسابقة الرسمية للمعاهد الموسيقية الإيطالية "Premio delle Arti". في عام 2011 ، فاز فيلم "الجانب المظلم من الشمس" للمخرج سي إس هينترمان ، والذي عمل فيه كمؤلف ، بجائزة أفضل موسيقى تصويرية في مهرجان سولمونا السينمائي. منذ عام 2011 تولى إدارة مهرجان Errichetta ، وهو أحد أهم فعاليات الموسيقى الشرقية التقليدية في إيطاليا.

Mazaher is an ensemble in which women play a leading role.
The musicians of Mazaher, Um Sameh, Um Hassan, and Nour el Sabah are among the last remaining Zar practitioners in Egypt.
The music is inspired by the three different styles musical styles of the Zar tradition practiced in Egypt.
One of the African dimensions of Egypt, Zar music unfolds through rich poly-rhythmic drumming:
its songs are distinctly different from other Egyptian music traditions.
The music of Mazaher is inspired by the three different styles of Zar music
practiced in Egypt Egyptian or Upper Egyptian Zar, Abu Gheit Zar, and the Sudanese, or African Zar.
The ECCA is not researching or documenting the ritualistic aspects of the Zar
ECCA has gathered together some Zar performers and motivated them to go through lengthy sessions of rehearsing,
remembering and recording.
FEDERICO PASCUCCI is a musician hailing from Italy, he has lived the jazz music experience through an intense activity of studies and concerts around Europe, based in the cities of Lisbon, Amsterdam, and Rome. During his study career, he had many teachers like Kurt Rosenwrnkel, Eric Harland, George Garzone, Jim Snidero, and Je Ballard from the USA, as well as the Italian masters Pierluigi Quarta, Maurizio Giammarco, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu and Gianluigi Trovesi, in the schools of Testaccio (Rome), the Academy of Frosinone, Siena Jazz, and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Nowadays his artistic work embraces detailed research of musical styles from the Balkans and Asia Minor, which resulted in the Master thesis (at Conservatorium van Amsterdam) “The Saxophone in the Balkans – Roots and secrets of Saxophone playing among Macedonian Roma”, collaborations with the Roma bands Kocani Orkestar and Sercuk Orkestar and in the foundation of projects as Errichetta Underground (Italy) and Tugoslavic Orkestar (Portugal).
Since 2006 the intense performance activity makes him travel between clubs and festival stages with project as European Saxophone Ensemble (Belgium, CE), Agios Lavrentios Brass Band by Hayden Chisholm (Greece, Germany), Errichetta Underground (Italy), Malson, Kumpania Algazarra, Nelson Cascais Decateto (Portugal), WAS (Portugal, France), Animatronic Leviathan (Netherlands, Germany), Storytellers (Italy).
In 2010 he won the “critics prize” in the national competition of the Italian academy “Piemio delle Aiti”.
In 2011 the movie “The Dark Side of the Sun” was directed by C.S.Hintermann in which he was featured as a music composer who won the prize for the best soundtrack at the Sulmona Film Festival.
