Palestinian director Annemarie Jacir’s highly anticipated film PALESTINE 36 held its sold-out world premiere last night at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival to thunderous acclaim. The screening was attended by the film’s cast and crew, who took to the red carpet and stage wearing pins of the Palestinian flag in a powerful gesture of solidarity.

شهد فيلم فلسطين 36 للمخرجة آن ماري جاسر عرضه العالمي الأول بعروض "الجالا" الاحتفالية بمهرجان تورونتو السينمائي الدولي، واستقبله الجمهور بعشر دقائق من التصفيق والإعجاب وهتافات لدعم فلسطين، كما دارت ندوة نقاشية مع طاقم عمل الفيلم عقب العرض.

ينعي الفنان حسين فهمي، رئيس مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي،والمخرج أمير رمسيس مدير المهرجان وفريق المهرجان، المخرج الكبير علي عبد الخالق، الذي رحل اليوم عن عمر يناهز 78 عاما، بعد أن قدم على مدار مشواره المهني الذي انطلق في سبعينيات القرن الماضي، العديد من الأعمال السينمائية الهامة والتي بدأها بفيلم "أغنية على الممر"، ومن ثم توالت الأفلام التي كان أبرزها "العار"، "جري الوحوش"، "الكيف"، "إعدام ميت"، "شادر السمك"، "بئر الخيانة"، "أربعة في مهمة رسمية"، "البيضة والحجر" وغيرها.

The Cairo International Film Festival, and it’s team, mourns the great director Ali Abdel Khaliq, who passed away today at the age of 78, who has graced us over the course of his career which began in the seventies, with many important cinematic works, which he started with the film "Song on the Corridor", and then the most prominent of which were "Shame", "Running Monsters", "El- Keif", "Ex*****on of the Dead", "Fish Shader", "Betrayal well", "Four on an Official Mission", "Egg and Stone" and others.
