شكرًا للفنان مروان فايد ولكل الفنانين المشاركين في ورشة «أن تتبخر كليًا إلى الأبد»، اتبعت الورشة منهجية لرسم خرائط ذهنية في صورة مثلثات تصل بين موضوع وفعل، وموقف، كأركان أساسية مقترحة للتفكير في كتابة المشاريع الفنية. نظرنا في زاوية مختلفة من الثلاثة كنقطة البداية مرة تلو الأخرى، لمعاينة تغير علاقتنا بالموضوع المقترح، بالاستعانة بمجموعة من ١٠٠ موضوع فني هام خلال ال١٥ عام الماضين. ناقشت المجموعة المقترحات المتخيلة وعلاقتهم بمساحات الفعل والموقف، وأثر كل منهم على المسافة بين الفنان والموضوع، ومفاهيم التحلي والتخلي.
بالفعل الفني يتحرك الموقف، ولكن الموقف هو ما يعطي العمل معنى واتجاه. تشكلت الورشة من سؤال حول مساحات مشاركة المخططات الفنية كشكل من أشكال الانعكاس الشخصي والجماعي، إذ تحاكي تلك الأشكال من التعاون أسبابًا رئيسية لعملنا في الفن: ما وقر في قلبه، وصدقه فعلًا أو عملا، وعاءُ للتبخر.
Thank you to workshop designer and facilitator Marwan Fayed and all participating artists. «To Evaporate Fully and Forever» workshop was centered on mapping a triangle that relates a topic, to an action (doing), to a statement (being), that together comprise a proposition. Starting with a different angle every time, and exploring 100 hot topics in the artworld through the past 15 years. Those fictional proposals were discussed in the ways they engage a state of being, or a realm of action, and the relationship that draws between the topic and the artist; what or where to let go, or embrace.
While actions move the center of statements, what is static becomes dynamic, statements of being, are what gives works a taste and direction. What does it mean for artists to share fictional proposals as a form of self-reflection and peer-recognition? These interpersonal modes of mirroring and collaboration, reflect the reasons for the shape of our work, what settles in its heart, and is validated by action, that which comprises the vessel for evaporating.
