ورشة عمل تشاركية ضمن برنامج «عن القيمة»
«وقت الستوديو» ورشة تشاركية تستكشف العلاقات المتداخلة بين التصوير الزيتي والبحث، وتهدف لمزج الأدوات والمعاني كوسيلة للتفكير في وسيط التصوير في الممارسات المعاصرة للفنون.
سوف يتم اختيار 5 مصورين خلال دعوة التقديم للمشاركة في مساحة موجهة ذاتيًا للقراءة والكتابة والبحث والرسم والإنتاج في سبع جلسات تمتد من أكتوبر وحتى بداية نوفمبر 2025. نفكر في المعاني المحيطة بالعمل كمصورين في اللحظة الحالية وأشكال التراكم المختلفة التي تحملها اللوحات والمشاريع من تاريخ الممارسة ذاتها أو الظروف المحيطة بها.
لماذا وأين نذهب إلى الستوديو؟ نحمل الأوراق وننتظر الضوء المناسب أو نستهلك المواد والأفكار. تفكر الورشة في علاقة مساحات الإنتاج بمساحات العرض، من خلال مناقشة التاريخ الفعلي للتصوير داخل وخارج إطار تعريفه كوسيط. تحاول الورشة تنسيق مساحة للتفاعل مع موقع مشاركتنا في الفنون وعلاقته بالسياسة والتعليم والاقتصاد المحلي والعالمي والأيدولوجيا والموارد باستخدام المهارات والمعارف والأفكار والأشكال. صُممت كل جلسة من الورشة تحت سؤال بحثي مستلهم من مهارات وأعمال لفناني التصوير الحديث في مصر بمقاربة مع أحداث وتحولات في المجال العام.
لا يُشترط وجود مؤهل دراسي في مجال الفنون أو أية توثيق لمعارض سابقة للتقديم على الورشة، تهدف الورشة بالأساس لتكون مساحة للمصورين لنقاش مفتوح عن التصوير في اللحظة الحالية. تتبع الورشة إطار تعاوني، إذ يتبادل المشاركون الأدوار في تيسير النقاش وإعادة تفسير المنهج المقترح الذي تم تصميمه من قبل يارا محمود وبتول الحناوي. شاركت نادين عطالله باستشارة حول المراجع التاريخية والأسئلة البحثية للورشة.

//Open Call: Studio Hours - On Value//
A collaborative workshop under «On Value» program
«Studio Hours» is a collaborative workshop that explores the intertwined relationship between painting and research, merging tools and meanings to navigate the medium of painting in contemporary art practices.
5 Painters will be selected through this open call to join a collective and self-directed room, to read, write, research, sketch and produce, over the course of 7 sessions during October-November 2025. Thinking of what it means to be a painter at the moment and what type of accumulation our work carries, from the history of the practice and the circumstances in which the practice takes place.
Why and where do we go to the studio? Carrying the paper or waiting for the right light or burning through the material. The workshop thinks through the relationship between spaces of production and spaces of showing, through discussing the material history of a medium, and everything that can fall beyond it, outside its singular scope of reference. Situating oneself in relation to politics, education, local and global economy, ideology, and resources. Navigating skill, knowledge, concept and form. Each session is dedicated to a research question inspired by the work and skills of modern painters in Egypt, in relation to events and shifts in the public sphere.
The workshop doesn’t have any requirements related to accreditation or previous exhibitions, and is designed to be a space for painters to have an open conversation about practicing painting now. The workshop follows a collaborative format. Participants will take turns in facilitating discussions, and interpreting the curriculum, which was co-designed by Yara Mahmoud and Batool Elhennawy. As part of the curriculum development, Nadine Atallah offered a consultation on the historical references and research questions.
