Kenoma Theatre Company Kenoma Theatre Company is a Cairo-based theatre production group aiming to consistently provide intellectual & philosophical entertainment to it's region.

Founded in 2018, Kenoma Theatre Company aims to have a positive artistic impact on the theatre community in Cairo. While consistently producing shows throughout the year, Kenoma Theatre Company also hopes to establish young artists and develop their crafts by giving them the platform to showcase their art.

The Body as Theatre – Physical Theatre Laboratory is a 12-session intensive physical acting course by Abdelrahman El Kady, Co-founder of Silhouette for Silent Theatre, Mime & Pantomime Coach.
Drawing inspiration from Étienne Decroux’s approach, this lab dives into physical discipline, movement exploration, and collaborative experimentation to unlock new ways of storytelling beyond words.

Over 15 sessions, you’ll shape your story through practical exercises, collaborative scene work, and detailed feedback, all leading up to a staged reading of selected excerpts.
By the end of the journey, you’ll walk away with a finished play, ready to step into production or take its place on the festival circuit.

This intensive workshop offers a guided, hands on experience in developing a full length theatrical script from the spark of an idea to a fully structured play. Through a mix of writing exercises, clear frameworks, and personalized feedback, participants will deepen their craft and strengthen their storytelling voice.

Playwriting Intensive: From Concept to Completion

Led by playwright and screenwriter Ahmed El-Shamaa, this hands-on workshop takes you from a simple idea to a fully realized play.

Across 15 sessions, you’ll develop and refine your script through guided exercises, scene work, and continuous feedback ending with a staged reading of selected scenes.

By the end, you’ll have a complete play ready for production or festival submission.

About Ahmed El-Shamaa:
Head of Content at Kenoma Theatre Company, Ahmed El-Shamaa is a playwright and screenwriter with extensive experience across theatre, television, and film. He has written and adapted several notable stage productions including The Dumb Waiter, Reservoir Dogs, Waiting for Godot, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, in addition to writing and directing the short play Dara. In television, he is the creator of ولد بنت شايب and has contributed to major series like ظلم المصطبة and بطن الحوت. He has also written and directed 12 short films, earning awards such as Second Prize at the Cairo Film Festival (2015) and Best Screenplay at Manasat Film Festival (2020).

الورشة دي بقيادة الكاتب والمؤلف أحمد الشماع، وهتاخدك من مجرد فكرة بسيطة لحد ما توصل لنص مسرحي كامل من 3 فصول.
على مدار 15 سيشن، هتشتغل على تطوير وكتابة النص بتاعك من خلال تمارين عملية، شغل على المشاهد، وفيدباك مستمر، وفي الآخر هيكون في قراءة مسرحية لمشاهد مختارة من شغلك.
في نهاية الورشة، هيكون معاك نص مسرحي كامل جاهز للتنفيذ أو التقديم في مهرجانات.

عن أحمد الشماع:
رئيس قسم المحتوى في Kenoma Theatre Company، وكاتب ومؤلف عنده خبرة كبيرة في المسرح والتلفزيون والسينما. كتب وعمل إعداد لعدة عروض مسرحية زي The Dumb Waiter، Reservoir Dogs، Waiting for Godot، و One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest، وكمان كتب وأخرج المسرحية القصيرة "دارا".
في التلفزيون، هو صاحب فكرة مسلسل "ولد بنت شايب"، وشارك في كتابة أعمال زي "ظلم المصطبة" و"بطن الحوت".
كمان كتب وأخرج 12 فيلم قصير، وحصل على جوايز منها المركز التاني في مسابقة نادين شمس بمهرجان القاهرة السينمائي (2015)، وأفضل سيناريو في مهرجان منصات (2020).

Kenoma Theatre Company presents the ‘Advanced Acting Lab ’26’ to be held in April & May.

This acting class, led by theatrician Moustafa Khalil, is open to all actors looking to evolve and hone their craft.

This extensive class includes spoken & silent monologue-work, scene-work with a partner under the direction of the instructor, and an individualistic focus to allow the actor to grow their craft.
