أحد مشروعات قطاع المكتبات بمكتبة الإسكندرية. وهو مشروع بحثي يهدف الى خدمة الباحثين المهتمين بدراسة مكتبة الإسكندرية القديمة، والحركة نشر العلمية والفكرية السكندرية والحياة العلمية والثقافية في مدينة الإسكندرية القديمة والعالم المعاصر لها، وتتبع تأثيرها على تطور المعارف الإنسانية عبر العصور، وكل ما يتعلق بتاريخ وحضارة مدينة الإسكندرية القديمة، وأثرها على الحضارات اللاحقة.

دافه من خلال تشجيع البحث والباحثين وتوفير فرص التعلم وتبادل المعرفة للمتخصصين والعامة، ومتابعة التطورات التكنولوجية الحديثة المختصة بتوثيق التراث والحفاظ عليه وإتاحته، والتعريف بتطبيقاتها المتطورة، وتنمية الوعي وإتاحة وبث المعلومات حول موضوعاته للجمهور على اختلاف فئاته وأعماره. فيقوم المشروع بتنظيم المحاضرات وورش العمل والندوات والمؤتمرات وغيرها بالإضافة الى إنتاج العديد من الإصدارات المطبوعة والالكترونية. The Alexandria Project (AP) is a research project at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Library Sector. It aims to serve the scholars and researchers interested in the study of the ancient library of Alexandria, ancient Alexandrian scholarship, and the intellectual life in ancient Alexandria and its contemporary world. The Project also tackles the various aspects of the historical and cultural heritage of ancient Alexandria, and its influence on the advancement of human knowledge as well as its cultural impact on humanity across the ages. The AP gives special interest to shed light on cutting-edge technologies used in the documentation and preservation of heritage. The Project targets to raise awareness and disseminate information about the topics of its coverage to its audience of the different age groups of both specialized researchers and the general public. The AP seeks to achieve its goals through promoting research, organizing lectures, workshops, seminars, conferences and producing various types of print & electronic publications.
