Dear dancers, we have some news for you — at least it feels like good news to us… and you can decide how it feels for you.
First — unfortunately, the amazing Fiamma won’t be able to join us at the event. But we are very happy to welcome the wonderful Raquel Makow, who will be performing and teaching together with Sebastian Jimenez in Tallinn in the coming days. ✨
Raquel was born in San Francisco, California, carrying both American and Argentine roots. She has been immersed in the performing arts her entire life, training in ballet, jazz, and ballroom from the age of 10. At 15, she took her very first tango lesson at Salon Canning in Buenos Aires with her father and attended her first milonga at La Viruta — a magical, life-changing moment.
By the age of 22, her passion for Argentine tango had grown so strong that she made a bold decision: to leave the competitive ballroom world and move to Buenos Aires, where she lived with her grandmother and fully dedicated herself to tango. Since then, she has performed in some of the most renowned theaters in Buenos Aires and traveled across the US and Europe, teaching and performing at major tango festivals.
In her teaching, Raquel goes beyond movement and musicality, exploring themes of respect, self-worth, and healthy communication. In March 2024, she created her own solo tango-contemporary show, “La Apertura de los Ojos” (The Opening of the Eyes) — a deeply personal work reflecting her journey through struggle and healing.
Her passion for tango has shaped a remarkable partnership with Sebastian Jimenez. Together, they create a dance full of emotion — elegant, sensitive, and deeply connected to the music. Their movement feels like a true dialogue: every step is meaningful, every pause speaks, every embrace tells a story.
We warmly invite you to join their navigation classes on Friday and Saturday before the milongas (included in the milonga fee). Whatever you think you know about flow in the ronda, their approach to connection and mutual respect can take your dancing to a whole new level — something they embody so naturally as a couple.
And now the second piece of news (again, definitely good from our side): tonight we are closing registration on the website. Full Pass, Milongero’s Choice Pass, and One Day Pass will no longer be available online.
However — you can still join us! Individual tickets will be available at the door (see the Programme section on our website for details). Our event is open to everyone, regardless of role, gender, or experience — you are truly welcome.
