Starting with the big WHY.
I have a lot to share and many options how. This is great, but also sometimes confusing. Last night, I decided to make an intention for my subconsious/my guides to show me what is the focus that is of most assistance at this time. The night was interesting, feeling immersed in energies between sleep and awake states, feeling dissolved in oneness. In the morning, these ideas crystallized.
I am sharing them here, maybe they are of inspiration somehow. It's the first draft of something bigger, I feel, so ask me if you have questions and share if something resonates!
1) Planet is priority. At this time, it feels that whatever we do, it needs to support life on the planet in some way. So - how can I/we be of service with my/our skills in art-making and viewing, teaching and meditation?
Art connects us to our nature, thus also to nature (as in the planet).
Perhaps one of the reasons why the planet is in a crises is not the lack of data or theories, it's that as a society, we don't FEEL the planet, we have become dangerously deaf to the heartbeats of Mother Gaia.
However, the body knows. The body IS nature. The mind has forgotten, mass culture has forgotten, but all is not lost. Indigenous cultures remember: they know how to listen and notice what nature speaks. And they have a sacred connection to land. This is what we need to restore. When we reach the sacred dimension within ourselves, we are one major step closer caring for nature better.
Making and experiencing art helps us get back in touch with our bodies, with our heart: "How does this paper feel? What colors do I intuitively prefer? What do I really experience when I view this piece?"
We relax the mind and use our intuitive senses. What if... the indicator of "does it feel right in my body" is also "is it good for the planet?". I believe that if we are really connected to ourselves AS nature, that becomes the case. The mind then follows the heart, creating in collaboration.
2) Art can unravel how we can express ourselves in harmony with the planet
I believe we all have our unique gifts to share that, in the big picture, also somehow support the planet and humanity. Those are the gifts of the heart. When we draw, paint, sculpt, we make our uniqueness visible - we get in touch with our gifts. It's amazing how with the same setup in an art lesson, everyone's picture has their character. So when you view something you made, you meet You. You get one step closer to knowing who you are and... creating what you prefer.
3) Art can show us the way to creating what we prefer
Art is free. Art can be anything. It could be a warning, a reflection of where we are (headed). When we see it, we can draw our own conclusions an head to new directions.
Art can also be the inspiration for change. This is the topic I am most fascinated by at the moment. Art works with FEELING, awareness of which is the foundation of creating the experience we prefer- we can only share what we have within. Tune to peace within, share peace without. That's the first step, others follow.
