Wave is part of an ongoing research project that focuses on mutualism and inter-species collaborations to generate artificial ecosystems based on the idea of posthumanism. This interspecies project explores biological phenomena at the intersection of media, technology, and politics 👁️

Dark Paradise - chapter I - was an art&science expedition held in 2018. We went to Roca Redonda, an underwater volcano on the north of Isabela Island, Galapagos, along with a team of marine biologists to survey how corals deal with ocean acidification produced by volcanic activity spell through rocky seeps. The process might be compared to the destructive one, caused by global air pollution absorved by the seas. The Origins of color exhibition presented later at international venues was the result of this first journey. We displayed videos, sculptures and photos merging together dangerous beauty and proofs of corals resilience to anthropogenic affectation.
🌎 In this second chapter, we embark on a new research embracing coral reefs restorationg in an attemp to go deeper in the understanding of a possible reciprocity to our surrounding ecosystem.
🧭
Today marks the starting point of a new long-term collaboration with Margarita Brandt and Nicolas Davalos that will bring us to work with bioacoustics, coral growing, aquariums design and organic 3d printing.

Please, follow out our updates.

"101 Arte Contemporáneo Ecuador Vol1" is a new book where you can find information about of .

“This publication undertakes the widest review of current artistic practices in Ecuador. The project analyses emblematic works that stand out for their thematic orientation and for the character of their formal and conceptual contributions, while at the same time illuminating the cultural, social or political context of the moment of their appearance. The selection and texts of this first volume were made by curators and art historians who lived these processes up close, and who with their views contributed to building the nascent contemporary art scene in the country. This book shows the diversity and creative power of the almost unknown artistic production of Ecuador, which places it, for the first time, as a focus of great interest and uniqueness in the region”.
