Pacha Quindi is happy to share this video of some of the amazing animals filmed on the trails here at Pacha Quindi Nature Refuge. The trail camera has only been in operation a couple of months yet already having positive results. The (Oncilla) Little-spotted Cat was also filmed although the quality was not satisfactory to add to this post. The White-eared Opposum was filmed several times and there is also more footage of the Red Brocket Deer. Lots of Neo-tropical Birds were filmed walking the trails. I also accidentally deleted the first month before sufficiently learning how to operate the camera. I hope to be able to share more amazing trail videos soon, but until then please visit Pacha Quindi You Tube channel to see other posted videos. We hope they inspire people to visit, volunteer, or donate to our efforts of protecting one of the most biodiverse places on this planet…the Chocó region of the Andean Cloud Forest found here at Pacha Quindi Nature Refuge.

Thanks to Paul Stewart who filmed at Pacha Quindi as Cameraman for both BBC and National Geographic for giving us a trail camera. This video is a result of t...

Here is a photo gallery of the Family of Tayras that visit Pacha Quindi Hummingbird Garden. Each individual is distinguished by its throat patch. Diamante and Dulce are the recent babies of Panela. (1st-3rd photos) Gaia and Ginko are the babies of Gaviota. (4th-6th photos) Inca and Intí are the babies of Isla. (7th-9th photos) Princesa and Pelota are Panela's first set of children born in 2016. (10th-11th photos) Punto is their Dad who lost his nose fighting for the right to father them. (12th photo) Pata and Pechera are two other males who may be the father of the others but not confirmed. We put bananas (up to 50 a day) on a board as a dessert for their meat diet of small mammals and birds. They are delightfully entertaining to watch and at least one family and often more visit the garden almost every day.

Pacha Quindi would like to Thank the many Film Crews who have recognised the value of our efforts here. It has been a pleasure to meet such lovely, kind, and creative individuals in their quest to bring us all the finest in Nature Documentaries. To see some of the extraordinary film footage they have filmed at Pacha Quindi watch BBC documentaries like "Planet Earth 2" the jungles hummingbird sequence, BBC "Life Stories" the hummingbird sequence on disc 2, BBC "Animals Behaving Badly" the wedgebill Hummingbird sequence, "Mountains, Life at the Extreme" the hummingbird sequence and mountain scenes on the Andes portion of the film. National Geographic recently finished filming here so watch out for their new documentary on Hummingbitds coming soon. Again Pacha Quindi thanks all the film crews for supporting us and bringing the marvelous wonders of Nature to our attention.

We wish to thank everyone who so generously donated funds to help us rebuild the watertank at Pacha Quindi after it was destroyed by a mudslide. All material had to be carried 1500 feet into the forest. All work done by hand. We are waiting for the concrete to fully cure before connecting the water source back to the house. We will hopefully post the final pictures soon. Again we deeply appreciate and are so very grateful to all those who supported us in our efforts here. Please visit www.pachaquindi.com to learn more.

Here are some photos of the friends and residents you find at Pacha Quindi. In an effort to keep our ecological footprint as minimal as possible we have been living without electricity for twenty years now. Without the convenience of tech-no-logical toys our social network consists mostly of these spectacular species found in Pacha Quindi Nature Refuge. We have been diligently working to protect and preserve, as well as restore, the Andean Cloud Forest habitat where these lovely creatures reside. It is one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet. Unfortunately it is also one of the most threatened due to logging and agricultural activities.
We invite you to visit Pacha Quindi and see for yourselves the wonderful wildlife here. We encourage you to join the volunteer program to help in the endeavor to maintain and protect this endangered habitat where these amazing animals live and need to survive. We trust after seeing some of these photos you will understand our diligent effort to protect their home. Should you wish to learn more, or contribute financially to Pacha Quindi Nature Refuge, please click on the donation page at www.pachaquindi.com to help support our ongoing efforts to protect and preserve this invaluable piece of the planet and it's wildlife. Thank you and enjoy the photos…Pach Quindi Nature Refuge

Lately we have regular visitors to our banana and rice feeders. We are going through 3 cups of rice a day and over 50 bananas a day. We could put out more but I do not want the furry little creatures getting lazy...There are also now over a dozen bird species visiting the feeders. So now we need more two-legged creatures visiting Pacha Quindi to contribute to the entrance fee that helps support all these wild things. (Hint-Hint)
