Time to enjoy worlds watercolour month! Today is day 9 of Daniel Smith Artists Materials /Daniel Smith Latinamerica , the prompt is aged, so a finger oil lantern was something that came to my mind. I enjoyed using this interesting warm color, Piemontite Genuine. Tomorrow the window's view may look a bit more whimsical.

Para el día 9 de este reto, lo primero que vino a mi mente fue esta lamparita, que funciona con aceite y de esa oreja se puede llevar como una tacita a cualquier lugar, la cuerda o hilo trenzado (pabilo) lo que se enciende y alimenta la llama con el combustible. En postproducción añadí un par de efectos y estén atentos porque mañana cambiará lo que está al otro lado de la ventana.

The last prompts of ARTivism for our blue planet ‘s art challenge with Healthy Ocean Coalition is Future.... I'd like to take a hopeful approach to the reality. Right know we have 2 main issues, it is getting hot, those who have been experiencing heat waves that get worse each summer might understand that a bit better. And it is getting more acidic, which also affects a lot of species that might need to move and some others might need to move with them cause they provide food, shelter or any resource needed. And those who can not move like that e.g. coral? Well they're getting bleached, and all the live they support? Gone.
But we have a whole ocean to explore, to understand and whole ecosystems deep down in the dark are yet to be discovered. That might be the key to find solutions and ways to work with nature. Research, restoration and conservation might lead the way to an interesting ocean's future.

This time ARTivism for our blue planet ‘s art challenge with , we'll dive deep. Around 5,800 feet (1,773 meters), during an expedition in Ecuador the Microeledone Galapagensis was discovered. It's a tiny blue octopus, that lives in the Galapagos Ilands area. Since it is so tiny I made the watercolour close to the size of the actual octopus.
En las Islas Galapagos en Ecuador, se encontró este pequeño pulpo a 1700+ metros de profundidad, como el reto de esta semana fue "misterios", qué mejor que una especie relativamente nueva encontrada en las misteriosas profundidades de nuestros oceanos, en una zona tan biodiversa.

Today's ARTivism for our blue planet ‘s art challenge with prompt was Super heroes, difficult but fun.
Superpowers:
Shark invisibility
White shark: If you're in the water and look up the surface looks white like a white shark's belly and if you look down anything gray as a white shark's back might not be easy to spot with all the blue unless it is close.
Tiger shark: Those stripes are more prominent in young sharks, they look like the shallow water shadows you'll see in the coast, that makes them easy to blend with their surroundings. Is that a shadow of moving water or a tiger shark?

Krill: contortionist, when they need to propel themselves out of danger, they do an interesting manouver where they fold almost in half and flip their tails (abdominal flexion-tail flip). Plus they also shine!, well it is called bioluminescence.

I’m glad to participate (once again) on ‘s art challenge with , The first prompt of June Symbiosis! So my inspiration came from more specifically endosymbiosis, which occurs deep down at a cellular level. How? A special sea slug (Elysia chlorotica) eats a specific algae (Vaucheria litorea), and the cells of the slug take the chloroplasts (the one that makes photosynthesis possible) from the algae. After 7 days eating the algae continuously the chloroplasts are kept permanently in the slugs tissues, where they are safe and well maintained. In exchange the slug obtains the perks of photosynthesis, plus gets to grow and mature.
