Join us this holiday weekend for an inspiring painting experience guided by local artist Cristian León. 🎨✨

Tullpuna is a creative space where you can explore painting in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Cristian will guide you throughout the session, offering tips, feedback, and support at whatever level feels right for you.

We provide a complete creation station with easel, canvas, paints, and brushes — you just bring your desire to create!

Feel free to bring an image that inspires you to use as a reference for your painting. Cristian will also have examples available to spark ideas.

For over four years, our drum circles have been a heartbeat of community in Cuenca. They are a space where rhythm brings us together and the simple act of drumming connects us beyond words.

Marcelo Abril will guide the circle, with Daniel Williams adding DJ beats to the experience.

We’re so happy to welcome Belén Carpio into the idiomARTE family.

Since arriving in Cuenca, she has been a constant presence in our space—sharing her energy, her creativity, and her warmth. What began through participating in various activities has gently grown into friendship, and now into something even more special: her own studio with us!

Belén is a curious artist, always exploring new ways to grow, creating and discovering with a sense of joy and openness. She also works with family constellations, holding space with a depth and sensitivity that is quietly powerful. She is both an inspiration and a beautiful addition to our casa creativa.

We couldn't be happier having her with us!

Stop by, say hello, and find her on the second floor in Sala Botero, just by the kitchen.

Estamos muy felices de darle la bienvenida a Belén Carpio a la familia de idiomARTE.

Desde su llegada a Cuenca, ha sido una presencia constante en nuestro espacio, compartiendo su energía, su creatividad y su calidez. Lo que comenzó participando en distintas actividades ha ido creciendo poco a poco en amistad, y ahora en algo aún más especial: su propio estudio dentro de nuestra casa.

Belén es una artista curiosa, siempre explorando nuevas formas de crecer, creando y descubriendo con alegría. También trabaja con constelaciones familiares, sosteniendo espacios con una profundidad y sensibilidad que se sienten de manera sutil pero poderosa. This workshop explores the connection between play and creativity, inviting you to experiment, get messy, and rediscover the joy of making.

Using everyday materials — from foam to combs, bottle caps to sheets of glass— we’ll explore a range of printmaking techniques in a relaxed, hands-on environment where curiosity leads the way.

Leave with your own printed papers, new skills, and. a renewed relationship with your own creativity.

Today was a bittersweet day as we had our very last Northern Roots rehearsal.

For us, rehearsals have always been more than just practicing the music—they’ve been a fun time to come together, tell stories, make each other laugh, be goofy, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

We feel so grateful to have music as this magical thread that’s woven us into a lasting friendship, while also creating something beautiful together that we’ve had the joy of sharing with so many people around Cuenca. We might just be some of the luckiest folks in town.

Northern Roots has always been more than a band… we’re a family, and we care deeply for one another. Glenn, we’re going to miss you, but we know you’ll keep rocking the northernest root up there in the Alaskan tundra. Maybe you can sing to the aurora borealis for us sometime! ✨

Glenn, Kristin, Sarah, Diana and Jeff will grace the stage one last time this Sunday. If you have some free time, we'd love to share this moment with you 🎶

After nearly two years, Cuenca’s favorite folk band, Northern Roots will come together once more to share the stage with our dear friend, Glenn David, before he and his wife Mara head off on their journey northward.

Join us for “One More Harmony for the Road”, a nostalgic and heartfelt reunion as the full Northern Roots band comes back together to revisit the music we love and the connections that made those years so special. We’re excited to share this moment with you and relive a truly meaningful chapter, even if just for one show. You won’t want to miss it.

For this special occasion, we return to our Patio Sessions format, where Northern Roots first performed at idiomARTE. These Sunday afternoon concerts are a joyful way to gather and revel in the simple pleasure of enjoying good music together.

Glenn David will begin the show with a solo set, followed by Northern Roots taking the stage to bring us all home.
