Connected Minds / End of Cycle

This marks the completion of a cycle for Connected Minds.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Foundation and all our partners for their invaluable support throughout this journey. Your trust and commitment have made it possible to explore, create, and share this project with integrity.

While this chapter comes to a close, we know that evolution and transformation are constant, and when the time is right, the adventure will continue into Chapter 2.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, supported, and believed in this process.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Viva del Cine and the Foundation for their support, trust, and warm welcome, and to everyone who attended and took the time to be present, to watch, to listen, and to share this moment.

This event marks the end of a cycle, after many adventures some bright, some difficult. There are moments when it becomes hard to keep believing in something, especially when the wind is blowing in the opposite direction. Yet it is often in those very moments that the true meaning of the journey reveals itself.

Above all, I feel grateful today. Grateful for the encounters, for the sincere exchanges, and for the collective energy that reminds us why we create and why we keep going.

This cycle has come to an end, but I deeply hope it is not an ending rather a transformation, and the beginning of a continuation yet to be written together.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Special Screening & Guest Intervention :
Le Chasseur et l’Antilope – filmmaker and producer Narcisse Youmbi

Narcisse Youmbiest is a Cameroonian author, director, producer, and entrepreneur. He grew up in Cameroon with an early passion for drawing and comics: as a child, he would tell stories in sequence on his slate, and in middle school, he became an avid comic book collector. One day, however, his mother discovered that his schoolbag was filled only with comic books and destroyed his entire collection. This shock didn't make him abandon his dreams: he simply redirected his energy toward other forms of expression, such as basketball… before returning to visual storytelling.

At the University of Douala, he joined the visual arts club and co-founded the satirical newspaper Caricaturas, which he printed through an arrangement with a printer: they worked for him at night in exchange for copies of the newspaper. There, he learned about printing, the production of a published item, and the economic realities of a cultural project. A controversy surrounding an article on homosexuality in positions of power led to the newspaper's suspension. Narcisse then decided to distance himself from politics to dedicate himself to stories that empower young people rather than expose them. With other authors, he later founded the association Trait Noir and launched K-MER Comics, the first Cameroonian monthly comic book. The project encountered difficulties in distribution and economic model, but an invitation to the 1st Algiers International Comics Festival (FIBDA) in 2008 changed Narcisse's trajectory: there he discovered animated cinema during a workshop, left with software on a USB key, and launched himself into self-taught animation. Now permanently settled in Algiers, Narcisse founded PRISM CREATIVE, a 360° global communication agency that supports companies and institutions in their image strategy, digital communication, and audiovisual productions. He also co-founded Dzawaya, a platform dedicated to Algerian cinema, conceived as a tool for preserving, promoting, and circulating the works and professionals involved. In addition, he hosts the weekly segment "Mama Africa" on Canal Algérie.

FRAKTAL 0.0 BEWATER – Berlin

On Saturday, November 15th, the Asselah Ahmed and Rabah Cultural Foundation hosted a unique gathering of art, movement, and emotions. The experimental videos and installations transformed the space into a living flow of light, sound, and imagination.

A heartfelt thank you to the audience, who came with curiosity and energy: your presence, words, and smiles turned this screening into a moment of true sharing and connection, far beyond a simple artistic experience.

Through Connected Minds, my wish is to create spaces where art reinvents itself, where images, sound, and emotions tell the world differently, and where every flow and movement breathes and connects.

A huge thank you to the artists: Khireddine Khaldoun, Zakaria Benallaoua, Imène Belkacemi, and Xoyiam Shüblaq, whose works embodied the theme BEWATER, bringing this fluid and poetic universe to life.

Thanks also to our visual and technical team: Kamil and Sabri, for the sound and photo coverage
Finally, a special thank you to the Asselah Ahmed and Rabah Foundation and FRAKTAL 0.0 BEWATER for their trust and support, making possible these encounters between artists, audiences, and multiple creative worlds.

The Asselah Ahmed and Rabah Cultural Foundation provided logistical and institutional support for the event.
