“Boosting Your Creativity”

I’m happy to see that creativity is becoming an increasingly appreciated part of nature photography.

It is a great honour to have been invited as one of the speakers at the BirdLife Photography Biennial Conference 2028 in Hobart, Tasmania. The theme will be “Boosting Your Creativity” 🙂

I’ll be sharing my approach to creative nature photography - exploring emotion, movement, and atmosphere in the nature.

CAPTURING ILLUSIONS – LAST 2 PLACES AVAILABLE

Only two places remain for my first Capturing Illusions workshop in the UK!

This one-day workshop is not about chasing technical perfection. Instead, we’ll explore how movement, light, timing and creativity can transform ordinary wildlife subjects into expressive and emotional images that exist somewhere between reality and imagination.

Throughout the day, we’ll experiment with:

• Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) techniques
• Long exposures and creative motion blur
• Working with light, colour and atmosphere
• Seeing beyond documentary photography
• Developing your own artistic vision
• Turning familiar subjects into unique photographic stories

There will be plenty of time for demonstrations, hands-on practice, individual feedback and discussions about the creative process, creative decision-making, and finding your own photographic voice.

If you’ve ever wondered how to move beyond simply recording nature and start interpreting it, this workshop is for you.
