I have translated part of the immortal Danish lullaby “Solen er så rød mor” (Harald Bergstedt/Carl Nielsen) to English in order to cover it in my band. It’s a dark lullaby where it’s the child that sings to its mother about feelings of lostness in the universe. Projecting these feelings onto wild animals and natural phenomena. In more ways than one this cradlesong is also a death hymn. In the take here my 14-year-old Teodor is jamming along. I dig the notes he chooses. Oh and I also wrote a chorus for it…
