Join us on April 22 as we celebrate the Danish Science Festival / with an evening of shared food and sound 👋

We begin with a vegan community dinner in Sound Art Lab’s kitchen, followed by a lecture-performance by sound artist Morten Riis inside ‘The Cube’ – Bang & Olufsen’s renowned electroacoustic measurement facility.

In “From Accelerated Times to Grounded Technology-Based Music,” Riis explores the musical potential of the Earth’s electrical energy through an artistic and experimental approach.

We’re really looking forward to sharing this evening with you!

In a time shaped by constant connectivity and digital saturation, students from RAMA take a step back.

Digital Detox with RAMA Students presents an evening of live sound performances created without the use of computers, exploring what it means to work and listen in a fully digitised world.

Through instruments, objects, voices, space, and bodies, the performers investigate what happens when sound is freed from screens and software and instead rooted in tactile, acoustic, and spatial presence.

Performances by Anders Bjerre Mariager, Dolores Oddrún Sigurðardóttir, Eduardo Reis, Hubert Kacperski, Daniel Kittow, Asbjørn Skjoldli Larsen, and Lucía Martínez Vicente. Supervised by Sophia Sagaradze.

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Aksel Striim, currently in residency here at Sound Art Lab, invites you to his Open Studio on Sunday, 30 November in Struer 👋

Listen to the wind harps on the rooftop and experience immersive quadrophonic soundscapes, with live improvisations on cello, voice, and wind instruments. Special guest Katrine Faber joins this magical sonic exploration.

We’ll begin at 14:00 on our rooftop terrace - hoping for a favorable wind from the weather gods. Afterwards, we move into the sound studio to experience a living dialogue between the recorded soundscapes and live performance. Finally, Aksel will talk about his work with wind harps, wind and resonance 🪉💨

The event is free and open to all. Find more details via Linktree in bio 👆

Wednesday September 3 at 19:00 we have a public event at Sound Art Lab with Till Bovermann aka LFSaw who is artist in residence at the moment.

Till will present the project ' # # Sounding Infrastructures'

“Our engagement with creative processes, from creation to perception, is profoundly shaped by an often-invisible yet omnipresent layer of infrastructural elements.
The lecture-performance examines the underlying structures that support our creative practices; from the tools we use, the languages we communicate in, to the environments we inhabit.
We will explore how these infrastructures influence and contour our creative processes and experiences and propose to ask questions that might help us to better understand their role in our practices.”

Till Bovermann aka LFSaw is a Berlin-based sound artist and scientist, working with field recording and interactive sound programming, creating sonic experiences and hypothetical islands of immersion and reflection.
As professor for Sound Art at HMTM München, he teaches creative coding, sound art and artistic research. Till is co-founder of the company “plonk” and part of the artist collectives “friendly.organisms” and “wait and hear”. Alongside his artistic and academic work, Till develops software in and for SuperCollider, Python, and Faust.

The event is free and everyone is welcome 😃
