You are warmly invited to Sound Art Meet-up #2 — an online gathering with short artist presentations and time for conversation. This time with Anne Stoner, Benjamin Meamo III, AIRE Collective.

Anne Stoner will present about her exhibition that was up from April 10th-May 22nd entitled “Infrastructure Bodies/Injury Systems.” The exhibition and project collected CCTV footage from American Midwest cities of protests and ICE agents, and data-sonified the movement of these bodies into synthesized sound and vocal keyboard. She would also like to ask for feedback on two very early stage projects: An edited book entitled “Sound at the End of the World,” and an upcoming 32-channel multichannel work for a Connecticut forest.

Benjamin Meamo III wishes to share his contribution in the Almanac focusing on his extended/expanded work on the soundscapes of Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) Baguio given that jeeps are under imminent danger posed by the Jeepney Phaseout - Modernization Scheme of the Philippine Government, as well as the economic hardships caused by Oil Deregulation Law (1998) vis-a-vis the oil price hike (US-Iran war 2026)

AIRE Collective (Yasya Minenkova, Yanis Proshkinas, and Denis Bykovskiy) will present “Post-Covid Blues: Coughscape” (2025), a site-responsive sound intervention developed at the Ūmėdė Festival in Vilnius from the dialogical essay “Post-Covid blues” by Yasya Minenkova and Yanis Proshkinas. A dispersed speaker array emitting cough sounds formed a “coughscape,” inviting close listening and attentiveness to the presence of the Other. The work reflects on how the pandemic recoded bodily sounds into biopolitical markers, prompting audiences to register their own affective responses — distance, vigilance, and responsiveness.

Join us for Sound Art Meet-up #1 with Marie Yevkiné Tirard, Choi Boryeon, and Luiz Henrique Otto de Santana Filho — an online gathering with short artist presentations and time for conversation. The artists will share insights into their practices and current research.

Marie Yevkiné Tirard will present “Poems and Lullabies of the Post-Nostalgic.” She transforms the poems of her Armenian ancestor, Yevkiné Diarian, into songs. After she found a book of poems, written in the 1930s by her ancestor, survivor of the Armenian genocide, the artist felt an urge to give a voice to these words, confined like silent relics, during 100 years. Her ongoing research explores voice, music, signs and images as means to let a threatened archive survive.

Choi Boryeon will present “Ururu with Clouds and Friends,” introducing Ururu.cloud, a sound art community in Seoul. Choi will speak about practices described as “lost species”: ways of maintaining a sense of awe toward objects and connections through small web and low technology.

Luiz Henrique Otto de Santana Filho will present “Mining Sounds, Performance and Public Intervention at the 30th Conference of the Parties,” sharing the research process around the performance The Sirens That Didn’t Sound (MABe/COP-30). This ongoing project investigates mining sirens and the politics of listening through safety manuals, journalistic reports, oral accounts, and amplified audience interventions.

In a time shaped by constant connectivity and digital saturation, students from RAMA take a step back.

Digital Detox with RAMA Students presents an evening of live sound performances created without the use of computers, exploring what it means to work and listen in a fully digitised world.

Through instruments, objects, voices, space, and bodies, the performers investigate what happens when sound is freed from screens and software and instead rooted in tactile, acoustic, and spatial presence.

Performances by Anders Bjerre Mariager, Dolores Oddrún Sigurðardóttir, Eduardo Reis, Hubert Kacperski, Daniel Kittow, Asbjørn Skjoldli Larsen, and Lucía Martínez Vicente. Supervised by Sophia Sagaradze.
