You know what - I’ve got my artistic identity down. I’m just in that phase of figuring out how to communicate it and find my audience in the process.

I’m learning to find more joy in the process. You see, I’m an extremely pragmatic and strategic person so my head can get a bit lost in the sauce. I care so intensely, sometimes it gets in the way of my own shizzle!

But here’s my depiction of the element - Air. How fitting - air is associated with mind and decision-making. The swords are cutting, incisive and sharp. Don’t use it to cut yourself 😅😆!

I think this is probably the most popular piece from the collection and I understand why. Water is the feminine essence, wet, nurturing and feeling. It contains the emotional body, capable of accepting all shapes and sizes. In its calmness, it offers peace and embraces all within its depths.

This piece is apt right now…

I am struggling a bit at the moment with my brand identity and presentation. I am a British 2nd generation 3rd culture kid/adult, meaning I was brought up in UK by immigrant parents who are both from different countries - Japan and Denmark.

I’m so in-between worlds in so many ways I struggle to fit in anywhere and resist a desire to settle. I’m forging my own path because I’m convinced there’s a way but it’s going to take time and a lot of self-belief.

I’ll keep posting what I have and but it does feel a bit hard right now.

I’m working seriously on one of my most complex layouts now. This is a continuation of the mirror series which I started a while ago.

I’ve decided to ditch the mirror technique and focus on hyper-saturated surrealist watercolour design. This shows the initial stages of gridwork and carefully laying out the structure. These lines are extremely confusing and it becomes difficult to keep the proportions locked in and interconnected when there are so many shapes and overlays - but this is my specialty and what I really enjoy doing even though it’s a headache!! 😂
