Thoughts from yesterday 💙
Thirteen years ago, we shared music between Greenland and Venezuela – music is a global community 🌍🎶
Greenlandic musicians visited musicians in Caracas for a magnificent concert with more than 200 participants ✨🎼
Thank you ❤️

Music as a shared language – a memory from Venezuela that feels relevant today Thirteen years ago – in 2013 – I was part of a truly special musical journey. We travelled from Greenland to Caracas, where we were invited as musical guests of El Sistema – the world-renowned music and orchestra ...

I’m SO happy to be part of the project RO PÅ 💙✨
In the video, I share a few thoughts about the process and the ideas behind the music 🎧🌿
On 21 February, you can experience the music live in Copenhagen.

🌟 I am honoured to have received this year’s composition grant Nye Veje – and I am SO grateful! ✨🙏🎶
It means a great deal to have the time and space to immerse myself in the project “Det stille stof / The Quiet Substance” – where movements in nature become music through my studies of visual impressions ❄️🌿🎶
I work with score-based music, which can be performed by soloists, choirs, ensembles, and orchestras all over the world 🎼🌍
A heartfelt thank you to the Danish Composers’ Society for their trust – and to all the musicians and collaborators I am fortunate to work with 🩷💜🩷

🇬🇱💖 Bravo to the Roskilde Cathedral Girls’ Choir! 💖🇬🇱
THANK YOU! 🙌👏😄 for bringing my work Nittaalaq / Snowflake out into the world – sung in Greenlandic ❄️ at Glasgow Cathedral in Scotland 🇩🇰🇬🇧🇬🇱
If you didn’t get the chance to hear them in Scotland 🎶😉 you can experience Nittaalaq / Snowflake in Roskilde Cathedral this Saturday – a rare opportunity to feel the language, the poetry, and the spirit of the snowflakes in the cathedral’s resonant space. 💫

❄️ Nittaalaq / Snowflake – Danish Premiere ❄️
I’m deeply looking forward to sharing this special evening in Roskilde Cathedral together with the Roskilde Girls’ Choir 🌿
📍 Roskilde Cathedral
📆 Saturday, 25 October at 7:30 PM
🎟️ Read more and get your ticket here
At the concert “Voices from the North – Transformative Sounds from the Nordic Region,” my work Nittaalaq / Snowflake will receive its Danish premiere – a piece in which I am both lyricist and composer.
The Greenlandic version was created in close collaboration with the wonderful Greenlandic singer Nive Nielsen, and the work moves between languages, atmospheres and northern lights – between snowflakes and breath, with the snowflake as a metaphor for each of the girls in the choir.
Join us for an evocative evening in the cathedral’s magnificent acoustic space – where Nordic tones, poetry, and transformation meet. 💫

🌟 A new musical collaboration in the making 🌟
I have just been to hear the Carl Nielsen Quintet together with some of my flute students 🎶✨
It was such a generous gesture from Jysk Musikteater to offer free tickets to the students 🙏💖 Thanks!
The quintet performed a complete Danish programme – and it was absolutely fantastic! 🇩🇰
👉 Peter Rasmussen
👉 Jørgen Jersild
👉 and of course Carl Nielsen
After the concert we also had a good chat 🎵💬 – the quintet had previously reached out to me regarding a commission for a new work. And now we are moving closer to the goal: a Greenlandic–Danish programme on tour in both Denmark 🇩🇰 and Greenland 🇬🇱 (and perhaps further afield 🌍).
This will take place in 2027 – but please feel free to get in touch already now if you would like to hear more about the project 🙌💡

✨ It has been a while, but this event truly deserves a post ✨
At the end of June, I took part in the Theatre of Voices Festival, where my work Niviarsiaq Naasunnguaq – Remembers only the light 🌺 Husker kun lyset was premiered in the beautiful Trinitatis Church 🎶
I am deeply grateful to everyone who came to listen – friends, family, and colleagues alike. It means so much. I am always full of anticipation at premieres.
Theatre of Voices, under the direction of Paul Hillier, artistic director, gave a wonderful interpretation, and I was deeply moved by the beauty they brought to the score.
📸 In the photo I am together with soprano Else Torp, Paul Hillier, and Phillip Faber – known from Fællessang – who also had a premiere at this concert.
An unforgettable experience 💫

✨🎶 New times – more music 🎶✨

I have said goodbye to Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium to make even more space for music in my life 💙

Proud to have been part of starting INUNA Podcast from scratch – from idea and funding to 200+ episodes, 140,000 downloads and a wonderful community of listeners 🙌🎧🇬🇱

Now the journey continues as:
• Freelance composer ✍️
• Conductor with Morsø Garden 🥁
• Flute teacher at Den Kreative Skole Silkeborg 🎶
• Flute teacher at Holstebro Music School and MGK 🎵

Thank you to all the wonderful colleagues at NTL and INUNA – I’m cheering you on 💫 And I’m sure our paths will cross again ✨

New times – more music ✨🎶✨ I have decided to move on from Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium to make even more space for music in my life. I am grateful for my years at NTL and especially proud to have co-founded and built INUNA Podcast from the ground up – the very first Greenlandic-language pod...

✨🎶 I’ve been awarded the COMPOSER Pelle Prize 2025! 🎶✨
It’s a huge honour – the prize is given to composers and musicians who create music with personality, courage, and originality.
It was presented at KLANG Festival in Copenhagen, and I’m still floating with joy and gratitude. 💛
To be seen and heard by this particular musical community… it truly means the world to me.
A heartfelt thank you to the jury, KLANG Festival and Edition Wilhelm Hansen – and to all of you who listen, follow, support, and walk this path with me. 🙏🎵
And last but not least: congratulations to Andrew Power who received the MUSICIAN Pelle Prize – I’m looking forward to our collaboration on the upcoming cello piece! 🎻

🌿✨ Rediscovering the Rhythm of Nature ✨🌿
Rhythm and sound have always been at the core of my music and soul 🎶🙏.
In this new blog post, I share my journey of rediscovering nature’s rhythm – from the vast, silent landscapes of Greenland to the gentle, green hills of Denmark.
I’d love for you to join me in this exploration. 🌿
