EMBRACE all the unique patina the past has to offer, including, as shown here, the roughness of the original walls. Where needed, make a crack/ an opening has been carved into the existing wall, allowing light to flow in.
The walls’ raw texture finds its true perfection when contrasted with the subtle sheen of a custom-made silk-covered dining table, enduring stainless steel and handmade ceramic tabletops in a hopeful green.

Everything lies in the details.
The mix of tactile contrasts gives the room character, one that feels naturally connected to its history, while leaving space for what is yet to come.

Color can transform everything.

It can make a space feel larger or smaller, warmer or cooler, dramatic or calm, intimate or open.

But color is more than atmosphere. It can emphasize architecture, alter proportions, and create connections between materials, objects, and space.

It can even tell a story, referencing an era, a heritage, or a particular design language.

Used with intention, color sets the scene and becomes the foundation for an entire spatial design.

The palette shown here was developed for a lovely villa originally built in 1920 and its 1960s extension, connecting two very different architectural periods through one coherent design direction.

Every tone is carefully considered, room by room, creating continuity while respecting the individual character of each space.

SPATIAL FOUNDATION _//

Flooring forms the foundation of a space, and its material quite literally sets the scene for the selection of the interior design.

Together with walls, doors, windows and ceilings, it creates the architectural frame, defining proportion, light and spatial direction.

When considered as one, this frame becomes a strong starting point for color, materials, furniture and objects.

DINING ROOM
In this case, we reused the existing floor and gave it new life.
The oak floor is visually lifted into the space through the chosen oak dining chairs, extending the materiality beyond the floor itself and enhancing the overall sense of height and coherence.

KITCHEN
In the kitchen, the travertine floor has set the direction for the cabinet fronts in a similar warm ch*****ne tone, while the cooler grey lines within the stone are echoed in the stainless-steel worktop and the cool concrete-grey walls.

Both approaches create a natural connection between architecture and interior, allowing the foundation itself to guide the design and giving the eye a greater sense of space.

A SEASONAL FRAMEWORK
Spring is coming.
March is fascinating, the gates are about to open.
Very little is in sprout, yet the field is open to what is becoming beneath the surface.
It’s the moment just before we let the horses out to pasture.
Warm soil tones form the foundation, while a restrained green quietly emerges.
Vintage depth and heritage textures balanced with modern restraint and clean silhouettes.
