A T H O U S A N D V O I C E S • Voices carry stories, emotions and memories, and when they are intertwined, something greater than the individual emerges. For .days 2025, the composer duo Philip | Schneider has worked in Ideal Bar to collect and shape voices for the work A Thousand Voices, a sensual choral work about love, community and the power of the voice. ~~~~~~~

On Saturday, September 20, we will celebrate the launch of the work with a special afternoon in Ideal Bar . Here, the audience will experience a performance where choral voices, electronic sound surfaces and readings are woven together into a living ritual that revolves around the transitions between child and adult, the private and the common, the fragile and the strong. ~~~~~~

Author contributes with a reading of the short story “Teenagegrotten”, which forms the backdrop of the piece and gives the work its textual foundation. Together, the artists create a space where voices can meet, reflect on each other and grow together. ~~~~
A Thousand Voices is a tribute to what we can create when we listen to each other; a work in constant transformation, carried by the many who have given their voice to the piece.
Come and join the celebration of a piece that is not just about being heard, but about all that connects us.

Det her har vi glædet os til at fortælle om! 💙

Til Golden Days Festival 2025 inviterer komponistduoen Philip | Schneider publikum ind i skabelsen af A Thousand Voices – en interaktiv lydinstallation, der vokser frem i VEGA fra den 9. til 26. september. Med udgangspunkt i årets tema kærlighed samler værket stemmer fra så mange forskellige mennesker som muligt – erfarne sangere, nysgerrige amatører og alle midt imellem. Alle stemmer tæller, og alle kan være med.

Deltag i workshop onsdag den 10. september kl. 16.00–19.00 i Ideal Bar, Enghavevej 40, København V.

Her synger vi sammen, udforsker stemmens muligheder og optager lyde, som bliver en del af den færdige installation. Du behøver ikke kunne læse noder – bare du har lyst til at bruge din stemme. Tag gerne en ven, kollega eller et familiemedlem med.

Under festivalen kan installationen opleves ved særlige lyttevisninger, og i løbet af perioden optræder inviterede kunstnere live i rummet og bygger videre på værket. Udvalgte satser vil kunne downloades som noder, så man kan synge med – både i og uden for installationen.

A Thousand Voices er en hyldest til stemmens mangfoldighed og til det, vi kan skabe sammen, når vi lytter til hinanden. Et værk om at blive hørt – og om kærlighed i mange former. I forbindelse med Golden Days temaet Kærlighed har Philip | Schneider sat forfatteren Fine Gråbøl i stævne, og under tanken om hvad der forbinder os, har hun skabt novellen Teenagegrotten, som
danner udgangspunkt for teksten til lydværket.
