So a little update:

Some part of the van broke and on Thursday it almost seemed they would be unable to find a replacement or fix it. (Like, no amount of ductape would safe it…😬) But at the very last moment they did found a Danish place that had the piece! 🎉 woehoee!

So on Friday they started the repairs, but were sadly unable to finish. Which actually gave me an unexpectedly quite comfortable camping spot for the weekend! They even gave me a loan car so I could explore the surroundings with a friend from Copenhagen. 🤗

We visited the mead brewery and I can only say; best mead ever! And a super warm welcome as well. (We got to taste as many as we liked! So I had to be careful since I still needed to drive afterwards 😅.)

Anyhow, let’s hope the van will be fixed today!

What started as a good first working day on the road, ended on day two in a bit more adventure than plannend….

Jonna and I are okay, just a bit sad. I couldn’t get the van into reverse, or any gear, anymore and had to be towed away.

But since apparently car mechanics are scarce these days, not a single car workshop had space for Sisu Eir. 😬

So I’m now dropped off at a truckers parking, with the promise that tomorrow I’ll be towed to either a mechanic or a campsite where I can stay in the van until a mechanic does have time for me.

Any one who knows a good mechanic (with time) in the area Ringsted/Køge 🇩🇰? Sharing is caring! Hope to find one soon! 🤗

Wauw! What a first two days this has been. 🤩

As some of you know, but probably most of you don’t, (since I’ve been basically dead here posting nothing) my life has changed quite a bit the last… well let’s say year.

But new exciting times are ahead. After an amazing 4,5 (!) months at my parents (love you two!) I’m off to the north again, with ofcourse my paints as well.

I hope to make many more travel inspired landscapes, now that I’m living the dream for the first time.

Kuddo’s from my two travelbuddies: Sisu Eir, the green van - and - Jonna, the pawventure queen 🥰

Normally I never post things on my feed to win something. But if you love portraits you should check out because she can make some magic with a photocamera. 🤗 And this photo of myself with my adventure buddy Jonna is a good reminder to look forward to all the adventures I can’t wait to put on paper with my inks. 😄

Another for ! ⛰️🌲

This one of a beautiful impromptu weekend hike, basically behind my house. Just two days of nature, with time to chill, swim and paint ofcourse.

I absolutely love my new hiking-plein-air-painting-with-inks kit. Inspired by the course (on ) and book from , I’m now playing around with water soluble inks. I even got to use now the fountainpen I actually learned to write with! How awesome is that?

And again, I think a lot of this years prompts are a perfect match with these little works that capture my love for the outdoors:

So here a photo of my plein-air sketch of the Berrfjell, while on my way to the Tjønnefjell. 🤗

Finally! The snow is (as good as) gone and we could go on a mountain cabin hike this weekend. 🏔️😄 The weather was the best Norwegian weather you can imagine (clouds, mists, sunshine and rain while we were cozy in the cabins). And my new shoes from did the most amazing job in the often calf-deep muddy moors.

Combine all that lovely outdoorsyness with a new plein-air technique that is so light and small to pack that it works for backpacking trips and voilá: this is the result!

What do you think of the ‘trail-inks’ views from the cabins and ?

Started a new painting. Isn’t this the most beautiful moment? I think most people, like me, tend to think of solitary animals when thinking about moose. But even solitary animals come together during the year and enjoy the care for one another. Most obviously between mothers and their offspring, and who knows, maybe this is a grown up son? (I know little actually about moose, so correct me if I’m wrong, I do think the bull looks pretty big and not the youngest… 🤔)

Anyhow. Do you love seeing the moose in companionship as much as I do? 🫎

Ufdah! That was two full days of painting again. 🥵 And yes that’s paint on my face and on my hands. I tend to get paint everywhere when working that big 😅 Hence the old way to big sweatpants and shirt from Jan, because I don’t only wile my hands on them, but brushes too.. So sorry for the old shabby outfit everytime I’m posting about the mural 😄

I really love all the new animals now fresh and happy on the wall. 🥰 The owl might be a new favourite, though I also absolutely adore the last minute addition of the weasel. Isn’t he cute?

And in case you are wondering why I painted not one but two ravens; that’s my little reference to Norse mythology, something I just had to add in. I don’t think I’ll add in any trolls or other ‘eventyr’ (Norwegian fairytale) references, but will leave that for the next wall which will probably depict an assortment of nordic fairytales and famous childrens stories (aka Astrid Lindgren’s wonderful world). I’ll keep you posted!

First animal of the mural finished! And ofcourse this had to be the king of the forest, thé animal symbol from Scandinavia probably. 😄 And no wonder, it still makes me gasp in awe whenever I spot one. (Including many adrenaline awe gasps too when they jump in front of my car while driving on icy roads…😳😅)

Can you already see the four seasons emerging?

Speed painting video coming soon 😄

The final result 😄 … for now at least.

I haven’t installed a good light yet and with the yellow table light from the side I notice I don’t get a good feel of the work. Also can’t share a progress video because my phone is to full 🤦‍♀️ so my phone stopled filming after a few seconds, and being absorbed in the process I obviously didn’t notice. 😜

Anyhow! Pretty content with how this experimenting is going. It’s by no means the quality yet that I’m used to and strive for, but I think it’s not bad at all. *proud face*

What are your thoughts on this little portrait of Jonna? 🤗

The little death. It is an appropriate name for winter. Everything is silent. But under that blanket of snow lies the earth waiting. Black, brown, with in its womb all the seeds to spring out of the earth in early summer with all the vigor of life.

I feel my body. Who or what lies there under a thick blanket of snow of fear and uncertainty? What is resting there that can come out, something so strong that winter, after winter, after winter it continues to live on in all its glory?

With my phone in hand, I take a reference photo. Who are you? The woman behind my life force. The queen who is within me.
