147 Portraits painted by Peter Holmgård Portraits, installation I am painting a series of portraits. Close ups, eyes looking out at the spectator, oil on canvas, vertical format.

The majority of the 147 Portraits are thorough intimate studies of faces, based of hundreds of photographs. Some of the 147 portraits are based on single backlit photographs. For these back light portraits, I asked the model to think of someone else, so that these are portraits of someone, on the of mind someone else. In the ultimate installation, the backlight portraits will be placed around and over the other portraits. In 2025 I will exhibit all 147 together.
