Last week in Strasbourg, it was a real pleasure to facilitate a workshop on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Many thanks to Science Melting Pot for the collaboration, and to the organisers for creating room for reflection, dialogue and shared learning.

What an incredible experience at Quantum Week in Strasbourg! We were honored to join the European Centre for Quantum Sciences (ECQS) for a deep dive into a vital topic: How to build a strong team in quantum—the power of inclusive leadership! ⚛️💪

From a talk by our founder, Shaeema Zaman, on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within our field, to our signature immersive workshop, "Diversity Diaries," it was a day full of growth and open dialogue. 🎙️✨ Zaman

We used Applied Theatre—powered by our brilliant creative consultants at HumanLab —to turn storytelling into a tool for real change. By identifying the unique challenges faced within the quantum community, & learned concrete actions to solve them together. 🎭🧪

Thank you to the organizers and everyone who attended! Strasbourg, you were amazing! ✨📍

Tomorrow we'll facilitate an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) workshop at Aarhus University – Faculty of Natural Sciences (AU Naturvidenskab ). A workshop we feel is deeply needed and which we co-create and deliver with the brilliant team of scientists at Science Melting Pot , using theatre as a powerful tool to unlock empathy and reflection.
In this workshop, we bring to life a series of scenes inspired by the books "Sexism in Education", "Diversifying diversity" and by research articles: real dialogues, anecdotes and moments that reveal both subtle and explicit forms of discrimination in academic environments.
Combining historical context, theoretical frameworks and dramaturgy, the workshop invites participants to experience, question and reimagine everyday situations related to inclusion, power and belonging in academia.
In this historical moment, we believe that opening dialogue and reflection on these topics is absolutely necessary, and we are grateful for every institution and individual who chooses to step into these stories and explore how to create more equitable spaces.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬🎭🎯

𝔻𝕖𝕞𝕠𝕜𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕖𝕥𝕤 𝕂𝕦𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕣 wrapped up a week ago, and we’re still full of gratitude.
Over 600 participants—students and families—joined us on a journey into democracy made of questions, listening, and courage.

It wasn’t easy: talking about democracy with young people means embracing complexity, contradictions, and clashing viewpoints. But that’s exactly where theatre and art show their strength: they provoke, they challenge, they open spaces for fundamental questions. And it’s essential to do this now, with those who will soon be called to have their say.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible: Horsens Teaterfestival and our supporters LB Foreningen, Insero Horsens, Familien Hansens Fond, Familien Hede Nielsens Fond, Horsens Kommune.
🙏

Many thanks to &co and Passepartout Theatre Production for contributing with such wonderful shows!

Getting ready…

10/10/2025

Proud to present the first activity under the project Demokratiets Kulisser:

TRIC - "The Real Insight Challenge"

TRIC IS A DIGITAL APP
TRIC IS A DYSTOPIAN COMEDY
TRIC IS A POSSIBLE FUTURE

The show questions “augmented democracy" and civic participation, reality and representation, character and persona, visibility and intimacy through the lens of a game show.
TRIC is also an app, ad hoc created for the show, which allows the audience to vote and affect the development of the show. The play follows two contestants as they compete in a series of challenges, inspired by the legacy of Greek democratic practices, reflected on the mirror of our contemporary existence.

Concept and Directing: Anna Penati
Actors: Anna Penati, Marco Zavarise, Eleonora Angioletti
Playwright and Multimedia: Torres Hansen
Music composer: Domenico Mannelli
Scientific Lead & IT Project Coordinator: pugliese
App development: Bogdan-Alexandru Mezei, Daria Popa, Natali Munk-Jakobsen (VIA University College, Campus Horsens, DK)
Produced by HumanLab (https://www.humanlab.studio/ #), Dansk Skuespillerforbund

The show will be presented from 20/10 to 24/10 at Horsens Ny Teater in front of hundreds of students from Horsens’ schools.

Our co-founder, actress, teacher, and movement director Penati is taking a break from HumanLab for a very special reason—she’s going on maternity leave from the 7th of March until Autumn 2025! 💙 🤰

As a small company, this is a big milestone for us, and we’re excited to embrace this new chapter while keeping things moving. We couldn’t be happier as a new life joins our journey!
