Did you hear about the EU-project that our sister organization is part of? 💙

Secret Hotel's new performance, 'Spillet om H2O' (The H2O Game) explores water and its role - both sensorily, historically and politically. The performance is developed as part of the interdisciplinary research project 'Are Best NbS'💧

Through science, art and dialogue with local communities, the research project explores how lived experiences affect citizens' and stakeholders' engagement, opinions and actions in their local coastal area. The project is supported by Innovationsfonden as a part of the EU-project Biodiversa+.

Each of the residencies for two collaborating persons: One artist and one researcher or specialist. 🤝

We encourage artists and researchers to apply for a co-operative residency with a focus on the more-than-human world, by which we mean; all the other entities, species, or matter whom we share the planet with.🌿🐾🐜🌎

The residencies are located in Denmark, at Earthwise Residency, which lies in the heart of Nationalpark Mols Bjerge.

The residencies are funded, and we offer amongst other things, working space, a small studio, private accommodation in the green hills of Mols Bjerge, Denmark.

// LAMENT RETREAT 2026: Remember and reconnect what was lost or broken //

Explore group laments to recognize how our individual sorrows are deeply connect to our collective grief. Together, we will experiment with shared practices that honour this interconnectedness of grief, while also making space for individual lamenting. It is an exercise in the ability to let our sorrow be heard and seen – and learn to support others in theirs. 👥

Our guiding theme this year is grief as community building: an invitation to reconnect, to remember and “re-member”, to tend to the broken or forgotten threads within ourselves and between one another.

This is the fifth lament at Earthwise and for the first time, we welcome newcomers as well, offering an entry point into this work without prior experience in laments, singing or grief work. The only requirements for participation are an inner need to learn lamenting, capability to witness others in deep emotion (without intervening) and allowing yourself to be held in the same way.

Lament is arranged by Earthwise Residency and Space for Earthwisedom.

"This is just the beginning" 🌱

That's the title of PACA's new scientific report about narratives, community and the power of change among grassroots movements in Denmark. We're delighted to have been part of this research, and to see so many inspiring initiatives out there 💚

The report is in Danish, but we'll share a snippet here:
"Christine from Earthwise mentions that the best experiences take place when they succeed in communicating the unique atmosphere and meaning of the landscape through performance art. She also mentions their work-aways, where signs of succes are experienced as very concrete changes because people work with the soil and with nature."

The SCC Elite Center PACA (Centre for Mobilizing Post-Anthropocentric Climate Action) is part of the University of Southern Denmark. Their research explores the emerging post-anthropcentric narratives in society and how these narratives might shape a new social organization of our production and consumption processes 🌿

How do we deal with the systemic silencing of the living world?

🔕 This silencing has taught us that the living world is just a resource for our taking. It claims that our empathy, feeling, and intuition is not enough, and that we should only care for the environment as long as it benefits us.

We believe otherwise.

💚 We believe it's important to learn from the world around us: Soil, water, and all living beings. But this requires a different way of listening and that we embrace the unknown.

EARTHBOUND gathered a community of amazing people, who all showed up with care, curiosity and a profound wish to rekindle our relation to the living world. And after three days of deep exploration, we can still hear the soil singing! 🌿

We are so grateful for all of the conversations, experiences and new knowledge that was shared.

💧 About SOIL and WATER.
🌎 About the power structures and narratives that neglect the living world.
💭 About the queerness of everything - and how to stay with the unknown.

LITTERATURAFTEN: HAVBREVENE💧

Oplev forfatter Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen i dialog med kunstkritiker Trine Rytter Andersen om "Havbrevene" (2018). Bogen er et hybridværk, der handler om verdens tilstand - fortalt fra havets synspunkt 🌎

📖 Det menneskelige narrativ dominerer både vores litteratur og vores hverdag. Hvad kan vi lære af en ikke-menneskelig fortællerstemme? Det vil Siri og Trine undersøge gennem oplæsning og samtale.
