Det er med stor sorg, at vi har modtaget beskeden om Henrik Leif Marquarts bortgang – kendt og elsket af mange som Phase 5 og DJ Don’t Care.

Henrik var ikke blot en pioner inden for dansk hiphop, reggae og urban kultur – han var en ener. Med sin passion, kreativitet og kompromisløse personlighed satte han et uudsletteligt præg på den danske musikscene gennem flere årtier. Fra de tidlige dage med breakdance og graffiti til produktioner, remixes og legendariske DJ-sets var han med til at forme fundamentet for en hel kultur og inspirere generationer af kunstnere og musikelskere.

Vi var samtidig dybt beærede over at få muligheden for at samarbejde med Henrik under hans tid i Red Bull Studios København. Hans energi, musikalitet og tilstedeværelse gjorde et stort indtryk, og mødet med ham vil for altid stå som noget helt særligt.

Han efterlader sig et imponerende musikalsk aftryk, men først og fremmest minder om et menneske med varme, humor, loyalitet og en helt særlig energi, som ikke kan erstattes.

Tankerne går til Henriks familie, venner og alle, der havde ham tæt i livet.
Æret være hans minde.

Forty-five years ago today, the world lost Bob Marley, but his spirit never left us. On the hills of Nine Mile, where he was born and later laid to rest beneath the colours of red, green and gold, Jamaica mourned not only a musician, but a prophet of unity, resistance, and love.

As the rhythms of his songs echoed through Kingston and across the world, the people understood what the Rastas had always said: “Jah give, and Jah take away.” Bob’s voice could not be buried. It lived on in the chants, in the streets, in the hearts of the oppressed, and in every soul searching for freedom and peace.

Forty-five years later, his message remains as powerful as ever. From “One Love” to “Redemption Song,” Bob Marley still calls on humanity to rise above division, stand firm in truth, and remember that music can heal what history has wounded.

Bob came home to Nine Mile in 1981 — but his spirit never stopped travelling the world.

Big up .t.petrussen Tarrak

For mange grønlændere er rapperen Josef Tarrak blevet en ledestjerne, der tør sætte rim på traumer, som generationer har fortiet. Men omkring Donald Trump har han været temmelig tavs.

I løbet af det seneste år er han blevet kontaktet af mere end 30 journalister. Han har hidtil afvist alle henvendelser.

Weekendavisens journalist Emil Jørgensen har fået lov til at følge ham under Arctic Sounds Festival:

The great has transitioned what a voice, great writer! Never will forget the reasoning we had in Barbados at Reggae hill, in the balcony of that amazing baseball field where they kept Roots night while Freddie Mcgregor was working! Rest. well maestro your works were greatly achieved!
