This year's edition of CHART offers more than a hundred artists and 37 Nordic and international galleries participating in the art fair at Charlottenborg in the heart of Copenhagen. What they have in common is that they share an active involvement in the Nordic art scene. Alongside established names, the galleries also present a new generation of artists which is beginning to be seen in exhibitions both in the Nordics and internationally. CHART in Tivoli opens for a wide audience to experience contemporary art at the charming amusement park for a whole month, from the end of August to September. On view at CHART 2023 will be artists whose work spans a wide spectrum from painting and sculpture, to films and performances, which reflects the art scene both in the Nordics and internationally. A highlight of the art fair is the new wave of female gallerists from all over the Nordics. Fall 2023, presents the largest exhibition of the internationally recognized Swedish artist Ingela Ihrman to date. With disarming humor and playfulness, Ingela Ihrman's work tackles questions concerning the conditions of one's own existence. By donning sculptural costumes, fabricated by herself, the artist pretends to be someone else; a giant otter giving birth, a blooming giant water lily, a fig splitting in two. At the same time, the work brings forth the imbalance and the problems that have arisen ever since humans began to distinguish themself as superior to nature. Ihrman has previously participated in, among other things, the and is currently on display at The Carl Eldh Studio Museum in Stockholm. CHART is excited to announce that five finalist teams have now been selected by the jury for the 2023 edition of CHART Architecture. Responding to the theme New European Bauhaus, each team has conceptualised an architectural project that foregrounds the three principles of sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion, as well as incorporating elements of universal design.
