Yosse is a dancer based in Malmö. After some years of digging in to the culture and artform of Locking she is super excited to be back and share her love for funk with Fuse Point. Her main focus is to create a safe space where you can take your time, play and explore with the basics of Locking while trying out some grooves and some of the Social Party Steps that was done to funk music during the 70s in LA, where also Locking was created by Don “Campbellock” Campbell.

🔻🔻🔻
Whacking:
Whacking is a dance style created in the L.A. clubs in the 70’s. It evolved as a consequence from oppression of especially black q***r and gay people. Through body movements they found a way to express themselves freely and a space where they could be themselves. They created whacking, at this point it was known as punking, as an “Expression from oppression” (Quote: Viktor Manoel). Later on, the style spread and gained popularity through “Soul train” - a music and dance tv-show in the 70s with primarily black dancers.

🔻🔻🔻
Whacking Daze:
Whacking Daze is a community and a free weekly event at KBH+ for all levels. Every week there is one hour class where a dancer from the community teaches and shares their dance and story. Afterwards there is an open jam, which involves cyphers, soul train, freestyle practice etc.
