💛 CSW’26 is excited to present our 10th local guest dj - JOHN BERCHTOLD

John has been digging, collecting and playing soulful music for more than two decades and his love for the music goes well beyond djing. John has been an active part of Copenhagen’s soul community for many years, from co-founding the Copenhagen Soul Weekender, to booking djs at Mesteren & Lærlingen and being part of the Absalon Got Soul crew.
But if you know John, you’ll also know that he’s rarely found far from the dance floor.
And that’s probably the best way to understand his approach to DJing. He’s a dancer, a collector and a serious lover of soulful records and he plays with the same enthusiasm and curiosity that he brings to the floor himself.

💛 CSW’26 is excited to present our 9TH local guest dj - ANDREAS B

Born and raised in California, I arrived on Scandinavian soil in 2010 and have been deeply imbedded in the local rare soul scene since 2011 - took a little minute to find it. I collect a pretty broad spectrum of soul vinyl, often preferring to dig deeper for obscure outliers over big trophy 45s.

In addition to helping establish Copenhagen Soul Weekender, I’ve hosted a number of local soul nights over the years and promoted a handful of venues in town as a DJ booker. Most currently you can find me slinging discs under the SOUL TIME banner, alongside John Berchtold and Emanuel Em. I’ve been honored to play guest spots all around Europe including Soul Parade (Paris), Santeria Soul Alldayer (Milano), Soulastatic (Gothenburg), Not Too Young Weekender (Lucerne), Walls Of Heartache (London) and Different Strokes (Manchester), to name a few.

I’m massively looking forward to another CSW, let’s go!

💛 CSW’26 is excited to present our 8th local guest dj duo - GHETTO SOUL

GhettoSoul DJs Søren and Nikolaj have been a regular feature in the Danish DJ soul scene since they started playing records together in the Backstreet Northern Soul Club in 2005, ran by the UK ex-pats that started rare soul DJ’ing in Denmark back in 1991. Several other DJs from there are also part of Copenhagen Soul Weekender this year. They both joined as punters in the 90’s, and later became collectors and DJ’s themselves in the 00’s. They have had their own club nights in Aalborg, Copenhagen, called GhettoSoul events since 2005 and have been going on together since. Søren have DJ’ed in Liverpool, Berlin, Oslo, Hamburg, and Nikolaj have traveled with him to some of them as well. Søren has a bit of “progressive” profile, playing gospel bangers and uptempo latin records. Nikolaj plays many modern classics, with the edge he prefers.

💛 CSW’26 is excited to present our 7th local guest dj RAFLA

Rafla (aka Hrafnhildur) originally from Iceland and now living in Copenhagen, began DJing in her hometown of 23 years, Glasgow. There, she was a resident at the legendary bar and venue Nice’n Sleazy for 15 years where she also co-ran ‘The Hot Club’ night (2007-2014), among various other residencies in Glasgow.

In Copenhagen she has her own monthly night at Fantom Bar ‘Rafla’s Night Music’ and regularly DJs in various venues locally and internationally from Gutter Island Festival, Kaffibarinn-Reykjavik to Komet Bar in Hamburg.

Her specialty sounds include Surf, 60s Garage, shakers and sleazy instrumental weirdness.

💛 CSW’26 is excited to present our 6th local guest dj duo - DEN STENEDE RILLE

Den Stenede Rille consists of the two young diggers and DJs Mads and Asbjørn - known for keeping the city’s dance floors on a tight leash with rhythmic extravaganza from across the globe. With more than a hundred gigs in Copenhagen and a recent club debut in Paris, the duo has, over the past few years, carved out deep roots in the nightlife of Copenhagen.

The Mod Squad was officially formed by the friends and DJ-colleagues Soul Anders and DJ Lord Gravenice Esq. for CSW 2023 but actually has been around on/off since the mid-eighties.
