Three more additions to our new weekend workshop series! 💥

On Friday, September 25, dancer and choreographer Adam Linder will bring his unique choreographic language to the studio for a special 3 hour workshop.

Then we have choreographer and movement researcher Heidi Vierthaler on Saturday, September 26, bringing her Streamflow Method to Copenhagen’s dancers.

Finally, on Sunday, September 27, in collaboration with this season’s København Danser Festival production of Afanador, we invite world-renowned flamenco dancer Rubén Olmo to share his enormous wealth of knowledge with us.

The weekend workshop series is a new series of workshops at København Danser Studios, inviting exciting artists and teachers whose practices span a wide range of genres, styles, and artistic approaches.

Some workshops will be created for advanced and professional dancers, while others will be open to everyone. The common thread is an opportunity to step inside an artist’s unique creative process—not only to learn about it, but to experience it physically through movement.

The Adam Linder workshop is supported by and organised in collaboration with the Danish National School of Performing Arts Further Education.

We are now taking applications for the 2027 København Danser Residency Program! 💥

The Residency Program is for professional artists within the field of dance and choreography, who need studio facilities for a project, rehearsals or artistic research.

During the residency you will have access to studio space for a 2-3 week period, the opportunity to get feedback from experienced choreographers and producers, and the opportunity to share your work in a sharing at the end of the residency.

We can offer residencies for 2-3 weeks from January to July 2027.

It’s time for another Open Studio as part of the KDS Residency Program! Come see what our artists in residence have been working on at the studios!

This time, you’ll meet Ekaterina Shushakova (Ekaterina Shushakova) & Louella May Hogan (Louella May Hogan).

“We have been using this residency to get to know one another, with the purpose to find ways we can be complimentary, aligned and harmonious without losing a sense of individuality.

With an emphasis on precariousness, we have been embodying synchronicity through physically, voice and conversation. We are researching how choreographic meaning can be created, given or revealed.”

We look forward to welcoming you this Friday, August 28, from 16:00–17:00 in the Erik Aschengreen Studio. As always, the event is free!

In collaboration with Golden Days Festival, we are excited to present our special workshop series, The Witch Within!

Join legendary ballet artist Sorella Englund for a unique workshop exploring the darker side of ballet through one of its most iconic characters: the witch.

Renowned as one of the greatest character artists in the history of the Royal Danish Ballet, Sorella is celebrated for her unforgettable portrayal of Madge in August Bournonville’s La Sylphide. Drawing on decades of artistic experience, she invites participants to explore the witch as both an archetype and a physical presence—embodying themes of otherness, instinct, and transformation.

No previous ballet experience is required. This workshop is open to everyone with a curiosity for movement, storytelling, and character work.

Bring comfortable clothes to move in and wear socks.

RE: ROSAS! WITH ANIKA EDSTRÖM KAWAJI Saturday, August 29, 13:30 – 15:30

Former Rosas company dancer Anika Edström Kawaji invites you to explore Rosas danst Rosas (1983), Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s iconic minimalist work.

After a shared warm-up, we will dive into the second section of the choreography, which is performed on chairs. Together, we will break down the movements in detail before discovering how they come together within the original composition—and, finally, dance it as a group.

The workshop is open to all levels.

Come move, explore, and experience this iconic work from the inside.
