Copenhagen Photo Festival

Copenhagen Photo Festival The official Copenhagen Photo Festival page. Copenhagen Photo Festival (CPF) is the largest photo festival in the Nordic region.

During our festival in June, exhibitions span the whole of Copenhagen and southern Sweden with more than 55 exhibitions including our exhibitions at Refshaleøen, and those organized by our satellite partners at diverse venues, ranging from galleries, museums, cultural institutions, to independent exhibition spaces, private apartments, cafés and libraries. Each year, ca. 250 Danish and foreign pho

tographers participate in our festival, whose works are visited by around 55.000. The festival presents a programme of high quality – artistically and conceptually – building bridges between fine art and documentary photography. Exhibitors are selected that bring special focus on our three main pillars; Framing Identity, Framing Society and Framing Vision. CPF’s mission is to actively engage and develop experimental and sustainable forms of exhibiting by presenting new perspectives and emerging talents. Throughout the festival days, we celebrate the diverse forms of photography and lens-based art through activities such as exhibitions, workshops, talks, and portfolio reviews. Our next edition will be running June 1-11 2023.

Aesthetica Magazine and the Evolving Landscape of Contemporary Photography

For more than two decades, our media partner for this year's festival Aesthetica Magazine has occupied a distinctive position within the contemporary visual arts landscape. As both a magazine and a cultural platform, it operates across three interconnected areas: curation, publishing and talent development.

Aesthetica Magazine, founded in 2003, provides a dedicated editorial space for contemporary photography and visual culture, bringing together critical writing, interviews and portfolio features that span documentary practice, constructed imagery, experimental approaches and emerging digital forms.

Through editorial features, awards programmes and exhibitions, Aesthetica has consistently championed photographers whose work expands our understanding of identity, place, technology, memory and social change.

The festival is happy to share a free subscription link to the latest issue of the magazine via theis link: https://aestheticamagazine.com/partnership/

🤩 CONGRATULATIONS TO SAMI BESBES, JESPER ANDERSEN & DORTE DALBY – WINNERS OF THE 2026 OPEN EXHIBITION FORESTIL DIG ...? 🤩

Sunday we revealed the names of the three winners in this year's open exhibition 'Forestil dig ...?' at The Royal Theatre!

Sami Besbes won the first prize for his image of a child peeking through the curtains – it spoke to the playful and hopeful notion of scenarios and in particular the Danish word Forestillinger – something that can both mean a play and scenarios of the mind. Congratulations!

Second prize goes to Jesper Andersen for his image of lovers by the beach.

Third prize goes to Dorte Dalby Nielsen for her image of a man gazing out of the window.

Congratulations to all winners – and thank you to everyone who played along and participated in the exhibition and competition!

And a huge thank you also to .dk who made this exhibition possible as sponsors.

The exhibition is on view until tomorrow at 8PM, so dont hesitate to stop by!
