✨ Teodor Bòk: From Flight to Art ✨

In 2021, we published the story of Teodor Bòk, an artist who fled Cold War Poland and found a new life in Denmark. His journey is one of courage, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to his art.

Through the eyes of Helle & Michael Moesgaard Andersen—longtime collectors and friends of Bòk—the book traces both his dramatic escape and his extraordinary artistic development in Denmark. It’s a monograph that invites readers to understand how history, displacement, and personal struggle can shape the work of an artist.

Unfortunately, Bòk’s story is still relevant today. It reminds us of the human cost of forced displacement, the resilience people can show in extreme circumstances, and the power of art to connect us beyond borders and bear witness.

Blurry nights. Smoke. Revolution. Never not relevant.

Allen Ginsberg’s photographs trace the lives and faces behind Howl — from New York basements to Eastern frontiers.
This book is more than a photo collection. It’s a self-portrait of a generation in revolt — featuring William S. Burroughs, Neal Cassady, Lou Reed and others.
From 1947 to 1987, Ginsberg captured his world with the same raw honesty as in his poetry — annotated with his own handwritten notes.
📖 With essays by Danish poet Peter Laugesen, Howl: The Photographs is a visual howl — echoing louder than ever in a world still asking the same questions.

🍂 Start your autumn by rediscovering the mad minds of a past — yet still burning — generation.
Get inspired by Peter Laugesen’s poetry and drawn into the raw, passionate universe captured in Ginsberg’s lens.

Daniel Buren’s stripes.
Graphic. Repetitive. Almost meditative.
Like striped beach towels or colorful bathhouses, his patterns capture the feeling of late summer — soft, slow, and full of light.

But it’s much more than just stripes and good times.

Whether you’re wearing dots or stripes, at the beach or in the park, Buren’s work invites us to see the world differently and it questions place, perception and power.

CRISS-CROSS gathers 39 voices — artists, writers, curators, and collaborators — reflecting on 55 years of creative crossings with Buren.

📖 Published by Roulette Russe, this book is a beautiful journey through art, collaboration, and time.
Perfect for your late summer reading.

👀 What do you see?
Is it just a pair of eyes resting on the bench, or is it a whole world waiting to be discovered?

I AM NOT WHAT YOU SEE is not just a book—it’s art in itself, a reflection of Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen’s journey through identity and performativity. Flip through its pages in the sun, and let it challenge what you think you know. Because sometimes, what you see isn’t the whole story...✨ 🌞📚

The book is published by Roulette russe, edited by Helene Gamst & Sanne Kofod Olsen, text by Sanne Kofod Olsen, Vanini Belarmino, Maria Kjær Themsen, Natalia Gutman, Patrick Flores & Kit Leunbach. Graphic Claus Due. Available through Roulette Russe.

🐍 IF THE SNAKE – Publication by Roulette Russe and the world-renowned artist Pierre Huyghe.

This book reimagines the Okayama Art Summit 2019, where Huyghe served as artistic director. As a reader, you are brought into the very state of being at the Summit.

With text, concept, and photography by Huyghe, the book guides you through the 18 artists and collaborative projects that were part of the exhibition. But it’s more than just a collection of art—it’s an experience. Huyghe reveals how exhibitions can evolve and shift over time, much like his own work, which blends life, technology, and chance.

Last week, we visited Aarhus to carry out research for an upcoming project. During the trip, we had the chance to revisit, late at night under a full moon, Jesper Just’s remarkable artwork integrated into the facade of Filmby Aarhus’ building. The experience left us even more excited about a revelation we can now finally share: very soon, Roulette Russe will be publishing an artist book in collaboration with Jesper Just, dedicated entirely to this artwork.

“The Garden in The Machine” is an immersive installation consisting of video and sound. Drawing on the relationship between natural and digitally produced nature, the artwork creates an interactive visual sequence of a slowly rotating forest. The piece is defined by a Scots pine—a solitary tree—planted on the plateau in front of the building’s facade. Using mounted sensors, the pine’s ongoing photosynthetic processes are recorded and used to control the film in real time.
