I discovered the culture of mixtapes on The Bowery in New York decades ago. A friend took me to some guys on a corner where their homemade cassette tapes were stacked — local hip-hop, disco and underground artists sharing music long before the industry knew their names. Because mixtapes weren't just recordings.

They were recommendations, discoveries, conversations. A way for artists to be heard and for listeners to stumble upon music they never knew they needed.

Later, I found the same spirit on the beaches of Ibiza, where DJs sold their own handcrafted mixes filled with exclusive edits, forgotten gems and impossible-to-find remixes. Every tape carried a fingerprint. Every mix told a story. My mixtapes are born from that tradition.

The cassette has been replaced by SoundCloud, but nothing else has changed. I still believe in digging deeper. In finding music that deserves another life. In connecting tracks that were never meant to meet. In creating a journey rather than a playlist. Today, algorithms know what you've listened to. A mixtape knows what you might fall in love with.

Streaming platforms have become incredibly good at predicting our taste, but they'll never replace human curiosity or a vibe. They'll never replicate instinct, obsession or the countless hours spent searching for that one track that suddenly makes everything else make sense.

Every mix I publish is built by hand. Every transition is intentional. Every track has earned its place.
Because mixtapes were never about convenience. They were—and still are—about identity, and inspiration.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for supporting independent selectors, DJs, remixers and everyone who still believes that music iwas never meant to be owned. It was meant to be passed on.

The first version of 'Bohemian Bubbles' was well received, so here comes the second mix in this series. Same vibe, but with more summer heat, more mixed rhythms, a little faster and lots of groove from real artists.

Finally the SVGR warm-up summer mix 'Bohemian Bubbles' is ready. It's taken a while, so some of the new tracks have become everyone's property in the meantime, but as usual you'll get some new stuff, some old bangers and some borrowed in reworked versions that will make you dance with the rest of us.. This mixtape has just been released and launched on SoundCloud. I want to apologize for the silence on the frequency, but now I’m back with an hour of well‑known bangers in fresh remixes, along with some completely new material.

As is tradition and as a sort of anniversary, as it’s the 10th year in a row, I have listened through all of this year's SVGR mixtapes, which this year were limited to seven releases, and selected the tracks that have worked best or that have given the most joy, dancing and singing in the car.

I have mixed these tracks into this mixtape, which encapsulates the SVGR zeitgeist of 2025. Give it a spin here:

Just released on Soundcloud, and this mixtape is probably the last one of the year — apart from the annual 'Best Of' that usually drops just before New Year’s Eve. That means I’ve emptied the drawers and dusted off the secret bangers I’ve collected throughout the year — Judging by the selection, it hasn’t been a bad year at all. Enjoy..🙏
