The insightful talks continue!

Trine Plambech, Director of Digital Sustainability at the Alexandra Institute, shared insights into the approach of regenerative business, emphasizing its focus on restoring and revitalizing natural and social systems while generating long-term value.

💡Instead of asking: What do I gain? Adopt a regenerative mindset and ask: How can I contribute?

🌎And whenever you’re in doubt, ask yourself: How would nature solve this?

Our online speaker, Andreea Popescu highlighted the concerning trend of mobile apps encouraging excessive shopping📲🛍

As UX designers, it's vital to address this issue and prioritize user well-being over consumerism. Let's promote mindful consumption habits and design experiences that foster sustainability.

💡Andreea made us think about:
- How can we design to help users make better decisions for themselves and the environment?
- How can we encourage users to think twice and make better choices?

Welcome to UX Copenhagen 2024!🚀🌟 In the first talk of today, Ruby Pryor challenged the notion of 'default thinking' for inclusive innovation.

Ruby Pryor highlighted biases in product design, such as:
- masculine defaults
- white defaults
- northern hemisphere defaults
- western defaults
- meat eating defaults

Drawing examples from around the world, Ruby showcased products breaking free from these paradigms while also spotlighting those still entrenched in default thinking.

Ruby got us thinking:
Does my product have a default thinking that I am unaware of?🤔

This year, at UX Copenhagen, we will discuss climate change, consumerism, and waste🌎👀🌱

Therefore, we have taken it upon ourselves to tackle the challenge of reducing our energy usage on social media and promoting digital sustainability.
While posting on social media does consume energy, it also allows us to spread the word and promote good behaviors and practices that, in the long run, can lead to energy savings.

The solution to reducing energy consumption online doesn't always have to involve omitting visuals. The key to reducing the carbon footprint of digital properties lies in finding a balance between the number of visual assets used and how those assets are produced and managed.

We will do our best to use our social media channels consciously. To achieve this, we will be guided by the following goals:

1. Creating Intentional Content: We aim to create content that positively impacts. We want our posts to inspire, educate, and foster connections.

2. Optimizing and Compressing: We're committed to using accurate image formats and compressing them effectively. By posting in the right format and employing compression techniques, we aim to reduce our data consumption.

3. Minimizing Video Usage: We'll avoid unnecessary use of video formats. While videos have their place, we recognize that they're not always essential. We prioritize relevance in delivering content and minimizing the production of digital content.
