Bicycle Innovation Lab Hub for bike culture, unlocking the endless potential of bicycles. We are based out of a retrofitted shipping container in Amagerbro.

Bicycle Innovation Lab is a member-run cooperative dedicated to improving bicycle access for the working people of Copenhagen. With four work stands, nearly every tool, members of BIL become self-reliant and knowledgeable. At the Bike Lab, we regularly host Do-It-Together open days on which everyone is welcome to bring and repair their own bicycle. There is usually an experienced mechanic availabl

e to help and answer questions. All open days are posted on our page as an event. We hope to see you at the next one! We're are also a hub for bike culture, advocating the supremacy of cycling over cars and unlocking the endless potential of bicycles. As a community association, we offer a platform for all things bike-related. In the past, we ignited engagement through bicycle libraries, specialized bike sales, dynamic workshops, diverse events, and visionary projects that influenced global biking culture and policies, with a focus on Copenhagen. Our focus now: building a thriving bike community centered around repair workshops and active member involvement. Join us and be a part of our ongoing story!

Spring 2026 is off to a great start. We love how many people want to come and learn and fix their bikes! 🔧

We are just a few volunteers each week so the best way to get help is to come prepared. Read some articles and watch some videos so you can hit the ground running.📕

We are always looking for new volunteers. People ask all the time how to get involved and the answer is easy, just show up at an open day and offer a hand to whoever needs it! And then show up again! That’s all!🤝

A big congratulations to our Chairman! Aidan will be representing BIL in the Amager Øst Lokaludvalg

We love our neighborhood, and he is happy to give back to the place we call home.

Så er valget afsluttet og de 15 foreningsmedlemmer til lokaludvalget er fundet 🎉🍾

42 foreninger har stemt med op til i alt 9 stemmer hver. Der er blevet afgivet 262 stemmer i alt. Flere foreninger end nogensinde har stemt til valget.

Ud over de 15 foreningsmedlemmer, kommer det nye lokaludvalg også til at bestå af 10 politisk udpegede medlemmer. Et fra hvert af de partier, der er valgt ind på Rådhuset.

Det nye lokaludvalg skal endeligt godkendes af Københavns Borgerrepræsentation den 26. marts 2026 ✔️

If you have visited the Lab anytime in the last few years, you probably have met Aidan and know he is helpful, knowledgeable, and generous with his time.

Wondering how the locals don't get hit by cars? First, it's nice to have fewer cars on the street, but until then, here are some instructions on how to survive the cycle paths.

Pay attention to the left turn, that one's not as obvious!

Also, be kind and leave the phone in your pocket, or get off the cycle lane and dismount before checking.

💪🏽IRONMAN COPENHAGEN💪🏽

Med hastige skridt nærmer vi os CPH Ironman, som afholdes den 17. august. Skal din cykel toptunes og de sidste watt klemmes ud, står vi som altid til tjeneste🫡

Lige nu er der en ventetid på 3-6 hverdage på alle tri- og raceropgaver, så skal du have din cykel forbi værkstedet inden, så kom gerne i god tid.

Med ønsket om gode ben (og crawlarme)!❤️

P.S Cyklen på billedet har I måske set før – det er nemlig en af Allans absolutte yndlingscykler gennem tiden. En dag for mange år siden fik Allan og drengene på værkstedet en skør idé, og pludselig var den måske første og eneste TT-bedstemorcykel i verden en realitet 😇
