Stephanie Homa (b. 1981), known by her artistic alter ego Super Future Kid, is a German multidisciplinary artist working across painting, ceramics, sculpture, and immersive installations. Born in East Germany and now living and working in New York, her artistic identity has been profoundly shaped by the cultural shift following the fall of the Berlin Wall. The cultural shock that followed left a lasting impression on her and continues to influence her love for bold colours, playful forms, and the joyful visual language that defines her work.
After graduating from the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin in 2008, Homa lived in London and New York before establishing an international career. Her vibrant visual universe blends childhood memories, contemporary culture, and a deep connection with nature, creating playful yet thought-provoking works that blur the boundaries between fiction and reality.
Employing bold shapes and vivid colours, her work explores themes of identity and what it means to be human. Through recurring characters, expressive ceramic sculptures, and immersive paintings, she creates emotionally engaging spaces that invite viewers to reconnect with the freedom and curiosity of childhood while discovering an alternative reality of themselves. Balancing fiction and reality, her work reflects on spirituality, play, memory, and the enduring influence of youth on our adult identities.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in cities including Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Seoul, and Tokyo. Her works are also part of prestigious public and private collections, including the LAM Museum, the VandenBroek Foundation, and the CitizenM Collection.
