✨📣 1st PLACE ✨ We are delighted to announce that our collaborative artwork "Helix" has just won the Tallinna Muusika- ja Balletikool MUBA (Tallinn School of Music and Ballet) art competition!

A huge thank you to ABMA - Arhitektuuribüroo MA for the amazing teamwork! The full team behind the concept – Liis Uustal, Egon Metusala, Mihkel Pajuste, Mariliis Kundla, Mari Ronimois 💥🥳 The sculptural artwork will be realised in early summer 2022.

We (Mariliis Kundla and Mihkel Pajuste) are extremely pleased to be part of Tartu Valgus / Tartu in Light alongside with LUCI Association conference this year.

We are exhibiting our light installation "Voog" (Gusts of Wind) at Eesti Rahva Muuseum / Estonian National Museum. The installation is imagined as a visualisation of the force of nature, wind, using interactive LEDs and hundreds of meters of white ribbons.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at the museum, festival organisers and Digital Sputnik. The installation can be enjoyed until mid-November.

Architectural light artwork FORCE (“Vägi" in Estonian) was our conceptual proposal for a new urban artwork for a military base. The design was to serve as a functional recreation area for outdoor activities. The strict form was created to resemble tactical military formation “arrow head”.

Moreover, we envisioned it as place for a vivid and immersive visual experience for the visitors, using dynamic light sequences and reflective surfaces.

This time our design proposal remained in idea phase. The project was made in collaboration with ABMA - Arhitektuuribüroo MA.

⚡️🔥 Looking back at our memorable dynamic light artwork “Sundown”. We cannot wait to enjoy the long summer evenings and the natural spectacle of sunsets at the very same location, setting into the sea by Noblessner waterfront.

It was a wonderful project — our biggest outdoor light installation so far, with dimensions of more than 30 meters length and exhibition period lasting for the whole winter season!

We want to thank our collaborators — Kai kunstikeskus / Kai Art Center (exhibition place) and Digital Sputnik(light fixtures). Until next time. 🔥

IALD Nordic Chase the Dark 🌟 It was wonderful to have an online event yesterday, with lighting design colleagues all across the Nordics. We talked about our passion for light and darkness. One cannot simply excel without the other.

✨🌾 Besides working with architectural lighting design, we enjoy creating light artworks. We envision bringing more sensory light experiences into architectural projects in the future.

✨WINNER OF ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION / LIGHTING DESIGN BY SPECTRA & SPACE✨

We are excited to share the news — we just won an arch. competition with project 'SINDI VÖÖ'!

Spectra & Space was a collaborative parter to the architectural bureau ABMA - Arhitektuuribüroo MA, working on the architectural re-planning competition of Sindi town (Tori vald) center in Estonia. We worked on the project from the very beginning, resulting in a holistic solution, taking into account both day-lit and dark hours. We designed a conceptual urban lighting plan — functional, atmospheric and creating a new identity for the dark hours.

Spectra & Space focus lies in creating light experience — from art to architectural lighting, and often merging these two fields.

While preparing for the upcoming events of the year, we are looking back at our 3daysofdesign installation in collaboration with Sindroms. This vivid nature inspired light installation was an organic digital interpretation of nature's fascinating forms. A sample of Nordic flora captured and illuminated for exploration. The installation was a part of the immersive experience in the 3daysofdesign HUB at Designmuseum Danmark. 🌿🧊

Last year at the same time Spectra & Space was working on our very first and largest indoor installation. Sound samples from NASA recordings accompanied by our visual interpretation projected onto a three-dimensional canvas. 💥💥💥
