This week, we visited the annual Flid Christmas Market in the historic Nørrebrohallen in Copenhagen’s vibrant Nørrebro district. 🏛️ Originally built in the 1930s as a tram depot, Nørrebrohallen has since been transformed into a cultural and sports venue, hosting everything from markets to events. The perfect setting for a market that celebrates Danish design and creativity! 🌟

Flid Christmas Market is renowned for showcasing some of Denmark’s most talented designers. It’s clear that the artists put their heart and soul into their work. From ceramics and jewelry to graphics and textiles, every piece is crafted with an incredible dedication to quality and craftsmanship. 🖌️🧶 It’s a fantastic opportunity to find unique, sustainable gifts—or simply be inspired by the many beautiful stalls!

The store is the oldest in Copenhagen.
It opened on April 23, 1857 and since then, only very little has changed.
Francois Petitgas had immigrated from France a few years before. �He was talented and won a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The diploma hangs in the shop, above Petitgas' portrait. �Petitgas clearly also had a sense of what lasts in the long run. most of the store's interior is the same as the one he had installed.
�The building is listed. So is the store's interior. �It is a pleasure to stay in these historical surroundings
