We proudly present the next act “Only Bones” by Marina Cherry for our Saturday program. Feral Festival is happening Feb 12th-14th at AFUK in Copenhagen
Lanky loidlings.
Squishy Schloompings.
Spiky Spa-doo-dlings.
Marina Cherry squeaks, zooms, and tiptoes through a micro-space. Fragmenting pieces of a personal universe spill over the stage for her solo performance, Only Bones v1.6.
Intriguingly engulfing, sporadically disturbing, this quirky conglomeration is a look into the many inner worlds of the human- a follow-up project to the original Only Bones (v.1.0) created by Thomas Monckton. In a balance between theatrical and physical, Marina plays with the limits, researching innovation amongst extreme constraints. Using only one light, it’s a maximization of the minimal.
..
Only Bones Project is a minimalist physical theatre and sparse-video performance project. Using uniform and restrictive parameters solo performers create their own unique live shows with a similar aesthetic. With guidelines of “only one light, no narrative, no set, no props, no text, and all within a limited amount of space”
Original Text from Director Thomas Monckton
Marina, educated at ESAC (Brussels) and ENC (Montreal), develops her solo projects as well as collaborations, notably with the companies Les Argonauts and Petri Dish. At the intersection of circus, dance, and physical theatre, Marina’s work – both process and performance – is a constant search for disorientations: those of the body, identities, and social structures. With a passion for research based on raw movement, often tinged with a grotesque air, she explores margins, inviting the audience to occupy liminal zones.
