Lately I have collected the number of questions that you players have asked me.
Is it possible to get more players on the server?
I also remember back to the days when the battle between Heaven and Hell was massive with many players. At that time, however, it also took a long time from the time I published the server until the players discovered the concept and took it to heart.
Although we probably never reach the number of players of the past, we could easily use more new players. I have been advised to open the server up for more players, which I have done. I advise ‘old players’ to take good care of the new ones, maybe have a low level figure lying around so you can play some sessions with them.
If you as players have other ideas for how we spread the word and get more players, you are very welcome to write.
How does ‘Search Skill’ work?
It gives you extra gold pieces when you find treasure. It has no effect on the items you find.
How to get the best XP and treasure?
You get the best XP and treasure by playing in teams with other players, but only if the players have an even level (within 5-7 levels as I remember). Teams with large deviations in level get penalties on XP.
‘HvsH custom XP programming’ was introduced in the old days for many reasons, but one was so-called ‘powerleveling’ where low levels hooked up on a high level and earned huge sums of XP without actually playing the game.
How do Quest Items work?
I might get into how to find quest items another time. But all treasure, including the various ‘Garthbala Items’ and ‘Kaztnatic Items’, are rolled with virtual 1d100 dice in‘ HvsH custom treasure programming ’.
Quest items roll a dice and get a number of selected Special Properties. Subsequently, dice are rolled for how good each Special Properties is. Therefore, quest items at low prices can be dics rolled so well that they can be better than expensively purchased quest items that are dics rolled badly.
How does Purple Weapon work?
Purple weapons use, like quest items, ‘HvsH custom treasure programming’. The number of Special Properties and how good they are are determined in the same way.
The Purple items are not found in quests or for sale, they are only found between leftover treasure of regular encounters.
‘HvsH Purple Weapon’ was introduced in the old days to reward players who did not leave monsters from regular encounters behind.
Are new areas being created for The Realm of the Dead?
No, the story is over, just like when you have finished a series of books. Although the story in the various quests and landscapes is cryptic, they actually tell a banal story that has an abrupt end and starts all over again. I will perhaps go into more detail on the story in another status.
