Looking for leadership partners at Gamescom + 3 things I believe about leadership - hook me up if you want to discuss at Gamescom:
1. BE RIGHT AND WRONG!
Being right and wrong as a leader is like adding sugar and acid to a food dish.
If you don't have both in the right measures, your dish will suck.
And you only get to those measures by trying and failing. They won't come in a recipe.
You don't get there by being right all the time or wrong all the time
2. IF YOU ARE IN FRONT, YOU ARE IN THE WAY!
If you lead by telling people what to do, you'll stand in their way of doing it.
Stand next to them and provoke reflection on what they are doing and why. And take the hits with them.
Don't stand behind them, hiding behind their choices.
3. YOU ARE BIASED BY YOUR EXCLUSIVE 100% VISIBILITY OF YOUR OWN THOUGHTS
What takes place in your mind is only visible to others, when you express it.
And you don't go around expressing your inner workings all the time (I hope not).
But whenever you choose to express them, be mindful, that you are summizing a live process of your mind, that ONLY you know intricately, but others ONLY know from your latest summation to them.
A lot happens all the time in there, and you are the only one who are there for all of it, which might make it quite logical or meaningful to you, but in many cases only to you.
