If every part of a ship is replaced, is it still the same ship?
Every painting begins with uncertainty. Somewhere along the process, a paradox finds me. I rarely know which one until the work is finished.

This week begins with a familiar paradox—one we'll explore throughout the week.

For now:

A ship slowly crosses the sea. Over time, every plank, every nail, every rope is replaced.

In the end, nothing original remains.

And yet we still say: “It is the same ship.”
